Tour of Crafton Farms, St. Mary

On Friday, November 12, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Audley Shaw joined Mr. Damion Crawford on a tour of his farm, Crafton Farms in St. Mary. Minister Shaw expressed how impressed he was by the advanced technological operations of both the bird and goat stations on the farm .
“With these farming practices that have proven to increase production and productivity, I am confident that this is a part of the new direction of agriculture in Jamaica. Guided by our agencies, Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) and Scientific Research Council (SRC), Crafton Farms is a frontrunner in goat rearing and egg production, and is well placed to be a guide for many other farms and farmers. We look forward to collaborating with Crafton Farms as we move to improve our small ruminant industry,” he said.
