I prefer this Randal May carrier/harness to the Andante carrier. Randal May carrier feels more secure to the drum and my body. I use a ratcheting drum key. Makes for quick adjustments with the right amount of leverage to tighten each bit adequately.
@@FreestyleRudiments hardware wise, the locking tabs are really innovative, the padding is washable and adjustable, but the weight distribution on the silver armor carriers is kinda weird. the new ones that BCP 2023 used are pretty nice, but I'm not sure if those are going to market yet.
@@FreestyleRudimentsthey are fine but there is no way for my quads to go low enough since the harness is too big (for me cuz i’m pretty short for the average quad player) and i can’t lower the belly plate further 😭
VIDEO SUGGESTION!!! PLEASE DO A TUTORIAL BREAKDOWN OF TOP SECRET DRUM CORPS
We used XL back in the day. I miss those harnesses. I miss them.
at 0:34 you ask for anyone who thinks they have a better harness. my favorite harness is the dynasty tenor harness because it is just easy to use.
Not seen these will look out for them
Pearl carriers were always my favorite
I’m a really small guy in highschool so when I moved that belly plate it still was sitting to slow so we decided to fold that joint up to fit me right
yea I guess for some its got a limit to how small it can go, maybe Randall May should make some short bar versions people can buy
@@FreestyleRudimentsRandall may does make smaller harnesses they are called petite carriers and they are shorter with smaller back supports
You should breakdown the rhythm x 2023 snare break (the closer)
Can u make a video on the rcc 2006 snare break
What happened to the brash drums pad
How high should a drum sit on the body? What relative areas of the body should we refer to?
My director has our drum up to our waist maybe slightly above and it works well
Can you do Syvåtte by the Bluecoats next?
My school uses the dynasty T-max. They’re really comfortable and the drum doesn’t wiggle or have a chance of falling off.
Same are you In Texas I am and my district are sponsored by dynasty and we pretty much use all dynasty stuff
@@Pourusdeerpercussion yeah I’m in Texas. I don’t think we’re sponsored by any brand, we have different brands for all our equipment
Nice! 💚🥁💚🥁
I use pearl, but I tried a Randall May one time and I liked it better cus u can tighten it
what about the back brace? The problem i keep having is it slipping down my back. I can tighten it but then I'm like stuck in the harness.
I had the back brace and we use different hardware for actually putting the drums on
what about quads??
Ours have an adjustable back plate thingy

yea I really like them
What you’re using there is a Jim Kirkpatrick Randall May Pipe band Model harness.
The Randall may harness is good cause the padding is like from so I agree that good
i like pearl more it just feels better. i do like the back supports though
After watching this video I see how many people bend the front bars weirdly, even in DCI
pearl
what are they like? you prefere?
@@FreestyleRudiments they have a lot more padding and i personally like the look better but thats me though
@@carterhoward9291 is it the black tube style?
4:22 You should be upset because there’s a lot of snare players in the Blue Devils 2024 with the hinge forward 😂
every Lot recording I watch i think... why dont they watch this video!!
Rhythm X 23' Snare Break 👀
Pipe band drummers wear this type of carrier
Wear the drum so we can see home it lies.
I hate this hardware with a passion
It sucks ass
Tama
are they decent?
