Deacon tells Amber that the feelings he has for her are genuine. Amber tells Deacon that the only man for her is Rick. Brooke hopes her plan will get Amber out of Rick’s life once and for all.

It's worth noting how similar this scheme of Brooke's is to Eric's Venice scheme a year earlier. And just like Brooke was happy to have won Stephanie's acceptance, only to turn around and un-accept Amber, Brooke is perfectly willing to orchestrate a scheme that is virtually identical to the one she couldn't forgive when it was directed at her.
Like Brooke and Thorne, Rick and Amber are engaged to be married. Like Eric, Brooke is a parent who disapproves of the relationship (although Brooke's reasons are much weaker than Eric's, because this time nobody's life is in danger). And like Eric, Brooke comes up with a plan to break up the engaged couple by having one of them witness the other kissing a third person (Ridge and Amanda, respectively) - again, Brooke's plan is weaker than Eric's because unlike Brooke and Ridge, Rick and Amanda have no romantic history (but Rick and Amber do).
The settings are also similar, both schemes taking place during a trip to another city, while the key players are staying at a hotel. The purpose of both schemes is to prove a point - that the engaged couple don't belong together because one of the people involved isn't truly committed to the relationship.
Yes! Was going to post something similar. Brooke went from outraged about what Eric, Ridge and Taylor did to her and Thorne to pulling the same stunt with Rick. And in this case, it’s happening with characters that were introduced about a week ago.
It's no secret Brooke is a hypocrite. Always has been.

Great point Annie and it really shows Brooke's hypocrisy. This is also another example of Brooke trying to become Stephanie, both because she's meddling in her son's love life and also because she wants to control the plot (her own scheme) rather than be controlled by the plot (Eric and Ridge's Venice scheme).
What is also funny is how Thorne didn’t call Brooke on her hypocrisy. Like say remember what my dad, Ridge, and Taylor did to you the same thing. The thing is that Thorne was weak. He only got some cajones once he found out Brooke still loved Ridge. Thorne deserved the pain after what he did to Macy. Macy only loved Thorne. Thorne was always 2nd choice.
The show is terrible and boring right now. Need Big Steph to come in and save it.

Oh, don’t worry, the Brooke stans are busy defending what she’s doing to Amber and Rick and praising her, what a great businesswoman she is, but they’ll be back when the manipulative snake will chase after her first “destiny” again!😂😂

The entire Amber and Rick stories are very boring, poor teen drama, I don't like it. I am only here because I am waiting for Sheila on November I guess.
it is out of character for Brooke not to care about Ridge with Steffy's loss, and then 4 months later doing anything to get him. The show writes for 2 months, without long term. It was different in 1989 and 1993.
