I believe the most difficult thing is knowing that this world is not worth holding on to, yet not being able to let go of it. It reminds me of the people who stood against Imam Hussain (as). They knew, with every fiber of their being, that they were on the wrong side and all they had to do was to switch sides, yet they could not do it. Something was holding them back. Their sins and their attachment to this world determined their fate as it will determine ours. It's such a struggle to begin this detachment, but it certainly isn't impossible. We just have to show up every single day and try. Listen to lectures, read a few ayahs of quran, do tasbeeh, try to pray on time, etc etc. Small changes stacked up make the biggest difference. Even if we fail 100 days in a row, show up on day 101 and that may be the day we finally succeed. We are all in this together and I pray we all look out for each other for the sake of Allah(swt).
