Keven, hi, I love your videos. I’m in Wilton Manors. I agree with all your videos. I don’t care for Grindr or hook up apps and definitely stay away from married men, yuck! I prefer to meet the person and know that they are single and 100% gay. But I love your videos. Thanks for your perspective. You’re very intuitive and dead-on accurate with your analysis. Keep up the great work! ❤
I'm actually seriously thinking about visiting the Miami area to see if I wanna move there so this video is quite helpful lol I love that you talked to the hairy guy! ! A lot of my ppl I know would just check if he's on one of the apps and message him that way instead of just shooting their shot then and there. A+ for trying
When you said Bootleg Miami. 😂😂😂 I’ve never been but I’ve always envisioned Ft. Lauderdale as a fun middle-age gay retirement destination. I just moved to Miami from up North, so I’m still learning. 😀 Maybe the guy is partnered in a monogamous relationship? Or just not gay, lol. Definite kudos for striking-up a conversation. Hope to see more gay dating videos in FL!!!
Like your way to engage with a stranger…. Good demo. I agree with you that the cute guy that you mentioned is mostly gay or bi. If it’s straight, he will reply it directly. He is curious too but he is just not that much into you. I really like your approach and share your thought process !!
Wilton Manors (locals just call it "Wilton") ia definitely a gay town. If you've been to Boston, there is an area known as the South End, where all the gay-owned shops and bars were in the 1990's and early 2,000's. The strip in Wilton, along Wilton Drive, and at the little plaza in that area, has lots of gay-ownerd and operated shops and bars. I think of Wilton as the "South End" of Florida, way moreso than Miami. Miami was a gay circuit destination back in the 90's and early '00's, but its a touristy, spring-break nightmare in Souh Beach nowadays. Many gay guys have moved north to the Lauderdale area ! THAT BEING SAID.... SUNNY ISLES, JUST SOUTH OF LAUDERDALE, AND ABOUT 25 MINUTES NORTH OF S. BEACH, HAS THE AWESOME HAULOVER GAY CLOTHING OPTIONAL BEACH. IT'S SPECTACULAR. A BIT CRUISY AT TIMES, ALSO. THERE'S NUDE GAY MEN THERE OF ALL AGES AND SHAPES, AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE. NOT JUST OLDER OR YOUNGER. EVERY AGE GROUP IS THERE. So, there's definitely a reason to venture south of Fort Lauderdale ! LOL
Yes since living here, I've been hearing more and more about this LGBT migration from Miami to Fort Lauderdale. Really interesting how these things happen over time! Same with NYC - the migration from West Village to Chelsea, and now to Hell's Kitchen.
Hi Keven, so happy that your getting to know different areas in Florida. I live in Fort Lauderdale so I know Wilton Manor quite well very nice area for drinks and socializing. I enjoy your content please keep the videos. Hopefully by 2022 you'll be able to experience the Halloween Fest in the city of Wilton Manor. The Pub is my spot for drinks the atmosphere out there has always been awesome. I've also had an experience like your story they always end up odd or they're not interested. Thanks again
@@KevenTalks Halloween Fest at Wilton Manors that's a very awesome event they have costumes drinks in the atmosphere is awesome. No problems no drama occasionally someone might get a little wasted what is a wonderful events
Thank you for visiting our wonderful gay City. Wilton Manors is its own city surrounded by Fort Lauderdale. I too lived in Miami Dade 😩 😫 😭 😪. You should really consider this area 🤔 we are definitely more gay! Lol 😆. As for the bars the Eagle in Wilton is not what I remember the one in NYC however you should have visited Ramrod in Fort Lauderdale, you could walk 🚶♂️ from Wilton its really close. Also please be careful when 🤔 at the beach ⛱ we have a lot af wackos out here. Stay safe.
Ft Lauderdale- beer drinkers. Miami - cocaine. Never see guys in the gay bars holding a drink. Around 2 am everyone standing listening to music all of the sudden whatever they took kicks in and all hell breaks loose. It starts with guys tapping their dot then they spontaneously start dancing in place. In Miami you have no idea and don’t want to actually know the kind of people standing next to you. Much safer in ft Lauderdale.
Hey Keven, I wish you had told me that you were going to F.L. Btw, Wilton Manors is it's own separate city. I would have recommended a terrific Greek restaurant in the heart of W.M. Did you go to Hunters or to The 🐒 Monkey Bar?
@@KevenTalks Remember, F.L. is very different on the weekends. I highly recommend you stay at The Worthington Resort. It is a gay resort and the owners are delightful. I hope you give it a try?
If you get a message from a 20-something in Palm Beach who invites you over, it' because his 60 yo. boyfriend is hiding in the closet, taped to a skateboard!!!
@@KevenTalks Thank's! We try. Foot Note:Whalen Flower described Florida as a place where...... "There's nothing there but Old People..........and their Parents!!!
He was gay. Even though it ended on an awkward note, you found out what you needed to know. It's more than I would've done. Maybe you just weren't his type or for some masculine guys (like I'm assuming he is) they find it a turn off when you pursue them. If they are interested they want to make the moves on the passive partner. At least thats been my experience.
you are mentioning a very important point here : Miami is certainly a gay friendly city, but gay men are diluted in the massive straight people who are very expressive..... a gay man will prefer a small town or a small area with proportion of 90% gay men presence, than a gay friendly city with 40% of gay men......... With this reasoning, Fort Lauderdale is more interesting than Miami
Well, speaking as someone who used to live in NYC - eventually I was drained by the city. Expensive, dirty, cold in the winter...the people can be grumpy / mean too....I don't miss it at all honestly. The people were more stimulating for sure in NYC - more interesting - but that wasn't enough to keep me there!
@@KevenTalks thanks for the quick reply! I love your videos. One more thing if I may: I know you touched upon this point in your other videos but I always hear that big cities ruin relationships. You said in a previous video, comparing NYC to Miami to LA that Miami is more relaxed and people are more reliable. What I am trying to ask is, from your experience, is a gay man who lived his entire life in NYC more likely to "settle" and find more stability in relationships in Miami? I know that a city is not the only factor and that I am asking you to generalize, but do you have any thoughts on this?
@@clarkkent3864 That's a great question. From visiting here throughout my 20s and spending the whole summer here in 2018, I did get the sense that it's easier to seriously date in Miami, because people here have a healthier work / life balance - they care more about their personal life, and being social etc, than in a place like NYC where everyone's always hustling professionally. However, being here the past year - I don't feel that same way. It's been tough here too, I discovered. Of course COVID exacerbated that, and I also happen to live in South Beach which is tourist central (not an ideal place to seriously meet people and build long-term connections) - so even 5 miles out from here could be a totally different experience in terms of dating. So my point is - I'm not so sure anymore. I will definitely have to share with you guys as I keep building connections here :)
I agree he was most likely gay. I think the elbow bump should have been the tipoff he was not interested. A lot of gay guys are not comfortable in getting intimate during the pandemic unless they know the other guy pretty well. And, remember, FL is the nation's COVID hotspot right now. In earlier times, I would bet the two of your would have developed something together. COVID unfortunately has taken a lot of the simple pleasures from life.
Damn, you did everything but rub up against him! The answer to your question is clearly, the guy wasn’t gay. He would of told you to go to Wilton Manors drive, there’s a lot of restaurants, coffee house, bars, businesses gay owned and condos down that way. The men tend to be 50 plus around around that way. Miami may be a bit younger but you better be able to speak Spanish. Miami is a very Latino-tight community. You date a Latino, everybody knows your business.
I'm still not convinced he was straight lol. I feel like a straight man would just say he's not gay or not familiar with gay bars. What straight man moves from Miami to Fort Lauderdale? lolll
@@KevenTalks Well, you might have a point. But then, it could be something else. You may not have been his type. Think about it. There are lots of gay guys that will be going out this weekend. You came off way too strong. You said, he was older. Well, older guys are from a different generation. Younger guys have no trouble hooking up with a trick just for the hell of it.
