    What causes stuffiness, at home when I am in one room I tend to get stuffy and cannot breathe through my nostril, so I have to breathe through my mouth and get dehydrated.

    How many air purifiers do I need to filter everything from the house?

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  2 года назад +2

      It depends on what you are trying to do and what your budget is. Ryan, the instructor in the video, has had a PCO type device in his supply plenum and a Carrier Infinity filtration system and has been happy with the results of that combo since 2015.

      Check out the aerus air scrubber advanced if you have a central HVAC. I am not a allergenic person my mother in law is and her dogs. I installed one in her leaky split system air duct system supply side without telling her, a week later I asked her how where her allergies when at home she didn't realize until I brought it up she said you know what I'm not itchy nor sneezing as much anymore. Point being the thing works!

    It would be great customer service to actually test for radon as that might be the solution to their air quality issue. I'm sure it would be appreciated. It is a serious health problem that many are not aware of. (Especially in the United States.)

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  3 года назад

      Yes, radon is a specific pollutant that has specific mitigation strategies. It requires encapsulation and direct exhaust. There is pretty much an entire industry devoted specifically to radon testing and remediation. This webinar, however, was specific to HVAC which is not generally involved in the radon industry.

    Is the Air IQ Perfect 16 any good?

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  3 года назад

      We were not familiar with that product brand so we googled it. It looks to be a high MERV with a decent pressure drop. It is pretty large, though.
      Plus it is just a filter, which means it is re-active. It waits for bad stuff to come to your unit to deal with it.
      We like proactive solutions that go out into the actual home to deal with germs. A SecureAire filter would be a better choice that Perfect 16. SecureAire has almost as high of a MERV rating as Perfect 16, but it has a better pressure drop plus it is proactively gathers particles from the space. That would be the way to go.
      If you have your heart set on Perfect 16, combine it with a needlepoint bi-polar ionizer (such as Global Plasma Solutions) or an oxidizer (such as Respicaire OXY4) so you can add that proactive component.

      Yes. Weird meaning anything other than your own foods you grew up with. Many, many customers in multi-family buildings complain about smelling whatever ethnic foods their neighbors are cooking.

    This is a great video, but you left out the research from institutions like Harvard and UC Berkely that have found that the hydroxyl radicals created by PCO can react with certain VOC's and create aldehydes and other carcinogens. Our industry needs to be very careful playing with chemistry we don't fully understand yet.

    If you live out West, you don't want to lose humidity in the summer, it's usually too dry already.
    So it may be okay to have an oversized AC unit.

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  3 года назад +1

      While oversizing is less detrimental in the "B and C climate zones" of the west, you still do not want to intentionally oversize. There are many benefits to correctly sizing than just humidity control.

    Can you please guide us that..How can we make report on indoor air quality of home..No of parameters we should consider?

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  3 года назад

      We are not exactly sure what you are asking. If you are looking for a tool that does "overall IAQ" measurements for residential homes, check out CPS's IAQPro or AirAdvice. They can track and report on things like temp, humidity, particulates, carbon dioxide, VOCs, etc.
      However, if you have a specific issue you are trying to check, then you will want to get a tool that checks that specific thing, such as a particle counter, methane gas detector, etc.

    Is tbere any method for capturing CO2 before air entering to the indoor

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  3 года назад

      Why would you want to capture CO2 from the incoming outdoor air? CO2 is not a pollutant to the human body at normal levels. And outdoor air is generally only 450-525 PPM, which is very, very low. Indoor levels are higher (600-1200 PPM for properly ventilated buildings) but only because CO2 is exhaled by people.

      Never heard of it so we Googled it. Their website is very homeowner driven and hence does not include much in the way of specifications or details of how their "DFS Technology" actually is supposed to work. We could not find it listed under UL 2998 either - spot.ul.com/main-app/products/catalog/?sharedsearch=61f3efa9135134dc3288e41c

      @@TECTubefilms would running any whole house air purifier (Bryant Evolution, iQAir, plasma ion generators, etc...) all day be bad/damaging to the system? How many watts would a single stage motor use if left on all day use? I'm beginning to thin that these units are designed to keep the HVAC units clean of pathogens and dust and not necessarily the whole house.

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  2 года назад

      @@bbshoney Yes you can run all 3 of those devices mention (Evolution, iQAir, generic plasma ion) continuously without issue. You can also wire those to cycle with your fan without issue. However, if you have a PCO type device or anything with a bulb in it, it should be turned on 24/7 only, since power cycling it reduces bulb life.

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  2 года назад

      @@bbshoney Wattage of fan motors varies with type and size. You can look up the specs on your motor to see the watts consumed. Then convert watts to kW. And then multiple by run hours to find kWh and hence your operating cost.

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  2 года назад

      @@bbshoney Depending on the install location of these devices, they will help keep the equipment clean. Their ability to clean air in the room, however, is a function of the supply and return duct systems and how good they are at getting air out of the room (to be cleaned, heated, and cooled) and then returned to the room.
