    Whistle of BB 4014 sounds like a lonely woolf howling in the distance, then when it charges around the curve its like a fire breathing dragon 🐉 🔥 with its black head and multiple wheels as legs. And the LOOOONG YELLOW BODY !! HOT, AND COOOL!!!!!

    Beautiful old steam engine, but why did they need a Diesel engine pushing it?

      Just in case a failure were to happen, it’s not running it’s being pulled

      Also for head end power to power the ac and other electric components of the passenger cars

      Due to that they may need to "idle" the old girl if water is not available or a helper engine to get 4014 up an extended grade. And to provide power for the rest of the consist(train). Remember that when we were in the steam Era, fuel and water were available ALL along the route. Look at all the old pictures of operating steam trains. Jimbo

    I saw diesel engine afte stream locomotives 😅 why they do like this put ahead fake stream locomotive

      It’s not a fake steam locomotive the diesel is there for dynamic braking, positive train control, and head end power for the electrical equipment on the cars

      @@Trebster-hl9pr it’s there for dynamic braking, positive train control, and to keep the train moving should the 4014 develop any issues. It does not and cannot provide Head End power for the coaches. That power comes from “power cars“ located in the train. Union pacific the website on the heritage fleet section shows these cars. They have diesel generators that provide the power for the coaches.
