- AMP101 is a 2-week program for students in the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). AMP101 teaches you everything you need to know about flight surgery in the Air Force. In this 2 week program, you'll learn about flight surgery, the Air Force and how to fly an ACTUAL PLANE!
HPSP is a scholarship for medical/dental students to relieve the burden of loans on students. You typically apply for HPSP when you are a premed student or an undergrad student in the prehealth field.

Great vid! can’t wait to be there someday, but right now I’m just trying to survive organic chemistry lol
Keep pushing! Dont forget to know those functional groups!
Thank you so much for these videos! With regards to residency and matching, how many positions does the Air Force have for applicants? If you don't match, how likely is it that you can get a civilian residency match? Thanks!
What are the differences between Army hpsp and Air Force hpsp, and which would you recommend?
So cool I am an army brat and I am planning on this
Let me know if you have any questions! Goodluck on your journey!
Do you stay on base in dorms? Or off base in a hotel?
And second question is, can you bring your spouse and have them just stay in the hotel while you are at class all day?
Edited: Thank you for this great content. Can’t wait to attend next summer.
They typically want you to stay on base in the base hotel! Most of the rooms were really clean, but I know one building did have a bug problem
How much will you make once you are done with residency and you start working as a doctor?
Somewhere between 120 and $150,00 staring for an airforce physician. It depends on your years of service and specialty.
Thank you for this content. I know they changed the name from AMP 101 to AFOM 101. Is it safe to assume this is the same course or do you think changes were made?
I'm not sure... I would assume most is the same.
Are you able to obtain your pilot’s license if you join the HPSP with the Air Force?
You'll get exposed to flight training, but it really depends on what path you take in the airforce. If you become a flight surgeon you will for sure get a pilots license. But id say you should at least have the option to learn or get one on your own time!
Student Physician Network Wow, thank you for such a speedy reply! Looking forward to the next video!
@@andrewhunter742 haha I need to work up the motivation to make some more videos! It's very time consuming!
