This movie is just way too underrated. It's so beautifully put together, and the score just completes it. It's definitely one of the tops of my list of favourites.
+Matthew Lutz Hardly. Besides, being a financial success, Disney was confident enough to make a sequel. Plus, it even got a Blu-ray release, unlike The Black Cauldron.
Yes, the sequel wasn't great, but the movie was really well put together in my opinion. It is for sure one of my favourites. Also, the reason I said _underrrated_ is because it was rated a lot less than it deserved (again, in my opinion). It's also not talked about much anymore, considering Frozen is the new hot Disney movie (which is extremely overrated in my opinion).
It's original, beautifully created, story and visuals, and will have you tearing up and laughing out loud. These are many elements that children's film producers have forgotten to include nowadays. Now it's all about money, not story or message.
This part in the movie always makes me cry. Not sure if it's from saddness or happiness, But it hits something deep inside me... It's just so.. timeless. This track teaches me so many life lessons. Such a beautiful art piece.
This track is simply magical. The way the emotion and power just crescendos until it finally spills over at 1:59 is beyond words! This track literally makes the hairs on the back on my neck stand, and causes chills to race up and down my spine. Wow!
Matthew Lutz It's a fact. What actually makes it underrated? And no, a mixed reception does not equal underrated. It was financially successful, received a Blu-ray release, and a sequel. Compare that to The Black Cauldron.
jacoblgames I didn't say it was more under-rated than The Black Cauldron, I just said that people have forgotten about it and it's been looked down upon by many people. The story is beautiful, like the visuals and the soundtrack. It's a heart-felt film that will have you crying at some parts and laughing out loud at others. The story is original, and I love it for that.
It is just one of the most beautiful disney movies ever made, together with Lion King an Tarzan on the first place for me. Too bad there is still no attraction of Brother Bear or Lion King in any disneyland in the world
Actually, there was a brief Brother Bear exhibit at Disney's California Adventure. There was a cave in the Redwood Creek trail across from Grizzly Rapids in which you can find out your spirit animal.
Thus continues a beautiful Disney tradition of including a moving foreign language song that none but a native speaker will ever understand or sing correctly.
1:59 Announcer: This November... Kenai: Keep all that cuddly bear stuff to the minimum, okay kid? Koda: The truth is I got separated from my mom. Announcer: See through another's eyes... Koda: Those monsters are really scary, especially with those sticks. Announcer: Feel through another's heart... Kenai: Koda, don't be afraid. Announcer: And discover the meaning of brotherhood. Koda: I always wanted a brother. Kenai: Koda! Koda: Kenai, look out!

The years that these movies came out was the last real good movies hands down. We lost track of how to make good movies, so sad. Happy that I have the knowledge to show my children THESE movies :D
English translation: Come with me, I’ll take you now to a place that you fear For no reason why Your heart has turned away from me And I will make you understand Everything will become clear to you When you see things through another’s eyes Everything will become clear to you Whatever’s meant for you, you will find Come with me, I’ll take you there To a place where you’ll see Everything you need to be, the one you need to be And all of those things that you feared Will disappear from you in time
Thanks, now I wanna watch it again! I love this part of the movie, it just made me feel so happy and it was so well animated with the northern lights, this movie is so underrated. I wish Disney stuck to this kind of animation and movies, and I’ll forever hate them if they make a live action of this film and change the music...
i believe we were all once like this, linked to our animal souls/spirits like everyone in the film. over time though, we sought things for ourselves, becoming selfish, and therefore we drifted apart from our animal spirits/souls. we may try to connect back to them, using many methods to try and reinforce that connection. but even then, the spirits remember what we did all those years ago and so we will never fully be in touch with them, like we once were. this is what i get from this song anyway. there may be a way for us to be closer to our animal spirits, as now having watched brother bear i feel like i am closer with mine (perhaps an otter, i'm thinking and feeling) and so it isn't impossible to never be with them again. we just have to mend the bond, fix our mistakes and we will become one
When I was youn at the age of 5, I always think that this scene is the most beautiful part. Why? Because it shows all the spirits that reside in each of everyone of us. Humans, plants, trees, rocks, waters (rivers, oceans, etc.), ground, and animals.. Soo good that I live to see this before I loose my innocence.
I was crying like crazy in this moment, cause I remember my dead mother I tell my young brothers that’s our mother well watch us for afar like Sitka do
Come with me, I'll take you now To a place that you fear for no reason why Your heart has turned away from me And I will make you understand Everything will become clear to you When you see things through another's eyes Everything will become clear to you Whatever's meant for you, you will find Come with me, I'll take you there To a place where you'll see Everything you need to be the one you need to be And all of those things that you feared Will disappear from you in time Everything will become clear to you When you see things through another's eyes Everything will become clear to you Whatever's meant for you, you will find here is the English version Ashley
This part of the movie always gives me chills, especially when you see the dissapointed look on Sitka's face

Matthew Lutz A lot of films are not talked about much anymore. That's a really bad point to use.
It's original, beautifully created, story and visuals, and will have you tearing up and laughing out loud. These are many elements that children's film producers have forgotten to include nowadays. Now it's all about money, not story or message.
Matthew Lutz Tell that to Kung Fu Panda, Rise of The Guardians, and others. Also, movies are primarily a money-making business.
I’m so friken happy I was born in the right years to watch this as a small child

It’s so touching, I’m not sure how to describe the feeling myself. This movie is truly so powerful.
Thank God I was born in the 90s, I can witness this masterpiece in my early childhood. Forever thank Disney for these gold movies

It was honestly such a warming moment when Kenai, Denahi and Sitka reunite and Koda saw his Mom again.

You deserve a medal. :)

I can't choose between Lion King and Brother Bear they are both my childhood.
I think both Brother Bear and Treasure Planet are way too underrated. They deserve recognition.
Yeah! Along with home on the range!
Actually, there was a brief Brother Bear exhibit at Disney's California Adventure. There was a cave in the Redwood Creek trail across from Grizzly Rapids in which you can find out your spirit animal.
I named my puppy koda after the bear
Gamer A. I named my kitten Kenai
After Kenai XD
Someone should name a bird sitka
I have a cat named koda cuz he looks a cat version of him
Me too!
i recently rewatched the movie and was absolutely blown away by this scene. beautiful animation.
warning: goosebumps in tears, viewers digression is advised
Thanks I've been looking for this for years. I agree that this movie is underrated its one of the best ones.

Power from Bulgarian voice!! 😘
even though the whole composition is lovely, I really love 00:52 I don't know why
It when nature starts to show its true beauty and show that even with the fear it holds, it makes everything equal and calm
MAN, this music just makes me wish I could forget everything about Brother Bear and just experience it all over again, it SENDS me, yo!
So Majestic and wild especially in the time of the pleistocene (The Ice Age).
