I just did mine. Definitely not as easy as it appears in your video but I got it done, appreciate the tutorial. I don't understand why Ford has to make common maintenance tasks on their vehicles so damn difficult.

I agree this installation is poorly designed. The more the filter is changed the easier it gets. Some of the clips can be really tight the first few times changing out.

What size are those plastic rivets? My are destroyed from previous owner... I swear...

At this time we do not have the plastic rivets. You can get new ones from your local dealer.

The thing was I didn't have a filter at all in my car and didn't know about it until I opened the compartment. It's unacceptable that Ford sold me a car without a filter or at least notified me that it doesn't have one. I just wonder is it the norm in the auto industry?

For SUVs in the early 2000s it is common because cabin air filters were not introduced at a larger scale during this time.
