Kong toys are the best mines 8 month he rips every toy. Kong brand is amazing avoid ROPE toys they can digest the strings and it’s bad. Also best food I’ve done hours of research is Zignature. Grain free gluten free. Best ingredients. I also give mine a supplement. Would love to tell you more info bro I’m 20 and been having schnauzers all my life.

I used to have a mini Schnauzer and she looked just like Lea :)) Bought my dog when she was 8 weeks old, she passed away 16 years later due to cancer. It was very sudden and very heart breaking. she’s adorable!! mini schnauzers are extremely smart and are so playful! mini schnauzers/puppies bite EVERYTHING and ANYTHING- so buy a good amount of teething toys like rubber small bones! they also bark ALOT due to being protective of the owner so be aware! besides that, they are such great breeds and so playful and cuddly ! ☺️☺️

Abril Cabrera the brand Blue Buffalo puppy food is great but kinda expensive. but it’s worth it if you want your new pup to get the healthy nutritious food in their bodies and not chemical harmful food . also be aware that the pup doesn’t know you and their environment. so they might not eat due to being anxious or shy! but it’s normal and just needs some to get used to you and his new home :)
You're not kidding about the barking, I've been working on trying to get her to cut the barking down and I'm having a hard time. But I love her so damm much. Getting her was the best decision I've made in a long time.
That made me cry. I had Mac and he was a schnauzer. He was 13 when he had a stroke and I had to put him to sleep. :( I'll tell you, there is NO DOG more LOYAL! You have to groom her EVERY month. Take her to someone who is EXPERIENCED with them. They are prone to certain health problems I never knew. Like hair grows IN their ears. True. You will be HER human. You will have the best friend ever.

I named all my schnauzers based on food; Blanche and her babies: Pepper, Truffle, Royce and Crumpy. These dogs are extremely affectionate, playful, smart, protective and brave. She won't stop biting even after 6 months because of teething so you may want to put away those shoes into safety. They're easy to teach but can get stubborn if you're not assertive. :)

she's teething, before you know it, you will realize you did not adopt a puppy, but more of a new baby, they do not last long, spend as much time you can with her, read up on the things you can not feed her

I grew up with sheepdogs, but have has miniature schnauzers as an adult. They are the most amazing dogs on the planet...not sure how old this video is, but you will LOVE her. You couldn't have made a better dog choice!

mini schnauzers are the best. i had a girl for 11 years, she recently passed about a month ago. she's the best dog (and only dog) i've ever had. they really attach themselves to you and you definitely won't forget them. they have such funny personalities too. my dog, inga, was really sassy and funny. she was all the way until the end too.
Humans don't teach schnauzers how to "speak." They were born knowing how! Schnauzers teach humans how to "listen," and if you don't, she will let you know! She reminds me so much of our Piper, who is about to celebrate her 12th birthday. Read all you can about breed traits - they are trouble, they are loud, they do as they please, and they are smarter than you can imagine. They are THE very best dogs ever! Best wishes to you both!

Best breed of dog ever, these dogs have been in my family from my grandmother, mom and myself. My little puppy Kayla is 10 years old now and still going strong. Smart , LOYAL and that mustache lol. Take good care of her teeth, can be an issue with this breed and they are also prone to skin bumps my vet actually calls them schnauzer bumps. IMO best breed of dog to own, hypoallergenic and non shedding are also a plus.
It doesn't get better than a Miniature Schnauzer. They're not for "first-time-doggy-owners"; they're tough! Miniature Schnauzer's are the only breed I've had my entire life. I'm on Schnauzer number 3 at the moment. The first 2 years are the hardest, but they're amazing. Good luck! Janine

Hey Mike, she’s a cutie. My miniature Schnauzer Max just turned 1 in August. It’s funny because my wife wanted him but I didn’t, yet we are like 2 peas in a pod and he’s super close to me. They are the sweetest, loyal breed you’ll find. Once you get past that potty training stage it will be a breeze. Not too mention, she will eventually get her menstrual cycle so I’m sure that’ll be an adventure. I potty trained my dog with the Potty Apartment by Modern Puppies.its a cage, that has a separation. One side is their bedroom the other side is the bathroom. My dog still uses it if it’s raining outside and we can’t walk him. Best wishes.

We have three Mini Schnauzers. They are the best dogs you will ever own. They have the most animated personality of any dog I have ever had. My little boy pup is wonderful....just keep in mind they were bred to hunt and kill rodents and are not shy about doing so. They also are somewhat high strung and will guard your house very very well.
I had a mini schnauzer named Elvis he passed away of cancer in 2016 at age 11. Best dogs ever! I’d get another one. Great watch dogs, very intelligent breed.

My mini schnauzer samantha passed away at the age 16 last month in august. I had gotten her for my 8th birthday. I remember saying as a kid, "I'm going to have her until I'm in my 20s, I can't even imagine myself in my 20s!" She was a great pup.. when I was on the bad road of life when I was kicked out of the house, my mom would tell me that she would wait outside the doggy door waiting for me to some home.. every night until.about 3am when she would come back and lay down with my parents... that hit me so hard when I found out she did that when I came back from that dark path.

I so enjoyed watching your video on your new pup, she is gorgeous. I had a mini but unfortunately she developed cushions disease. Eventually I had to have her put down it broke my heart. That was 5 years ago. I would dearly love another mini, they are funny, very intelligent and so loyal and Ioving, problem it's my age I will be 91 next year. Enjoy your beautiful new friend. For the first couple months I actually let my schnauzer bite me! I taught her bite inhibition- aka to bite gently because humans will ignore her if she bites too hard. If she bit too hard (caused any type of pain) I'd say "ow!" loudly, and ignore her. I'd give her the cold shoulder for 10 seconds. She learned very quickly.
Then I taught her not to bite humans at all, which also didn't take much time.
As others have suggested make sure to buy some chewing toys (mine likes her Kong tire in particular). She also loves chewing on dried rabbit feet; I buy them in bulk from Loyalty Dog Treats (not sure if you can get them outside of Canada though). As a puppy it took her days to get through one. Now they take her half an hour.
I don't know if this is the way you're supposed to train dogs bite inhibition, but it worked really well for my dog. She is incredibly gentle, around babies, grabby children, other dogs, cats, even my friend's rabbit!

My Schnauzer was with me for 15 yrs grom 3 months. When she died my heart went with her. I have not been the same. Love her and protect her strong. Stop with the name calling. They are one of the smartest dogs out here. And they are beautiful. Good luck with her.
I have a miniature schnauzer too. When he was young he keeps biting stuffs but after he grows up, he stops biting things and he is a really good boy. No shedding no biting and doesnt make much noises. He needs a lot of attention though
I have had a miniature white schnauzer my whole life and it recently passed away from a seizure at 14 years. He was my best friend and brought so much joy and love to our family over the years. They are truly the best breed. :)

I used to have a miniature schnauzer. He passed away 3 years ago at the age of 11, worst day of my life. I still miss him everyday. Schnauzers are a beautiful breed, they have the best temperament, are very smart and loyal and want to be friends with everyone. I miss my Levi so much (that was his name). Your little one is such a cutie and will bring you so much happiness. But be warned, they chew on everything when they're puppies. I remember coming home and mine had chewed through a new pair of flip flops lol. I'm looking forward to getting another little schnauzer very soon. Can't wait.

Schnauzers are the best! I have a mini, standard, and giant schnauzer and they are all the most amazing dogs. Schnauzers are very intelligent as well. She should be easy to potty train.

I know how stupid this sounds, but it is true. Not all Schnauzers have those perfect adorable ears that bend down perfectly. The gluing or taping (watch both types of this procedure to pick the right one you feel comfortable with), has to be done at a certain age and has something to do with the puppy's teething (something to do with the right calcium/minerals in puppy's system). It is harmless and does not hurt the puppy. Various amounts of time for wearing this ear bending apparatus is specified...depending on which video you watch. It permanently bends the ear cartiledge to make ears stay bent and cute. It all evidently depends on the length of the dogs ears. Better than docking ears, which is painful and ugly.
I have had a lot of dogs in my life and the best dog breed for me is the miniature schnauzers. You'll learn as she matures, that schnauzers have a very unique sense of humor.
I just got mine on Sept 15th. Have wanted a mini since I was 4. I am now 60. She is a silver and black. 9 weeks old this past Tuesday. Her name is Millie. Enjoy.

I got my min schnauzer puppy 2 years ago. She’s so easy to train and so protective. Intelligent. My puppy had crazy eyes as a puppy for so long!! Always biting with the crazy eyes. But she’s mellowed out. I have to exercise her 3 times a day so she stays happy. She knows so many tricks
I have mini schnauzer too. She's one of the smartest dogs Ive ever had. Train her right and she'll be an awesome pet.
Cyndie commenting: I've had schnauzers since 1981. They are sensitive, loving and loyal. Please don't violate her trust...best dogs ever. They need a great deal of attention and loads of exercise. Without enuff exercise, playing, interaction & toys there will be trouble, lol! Puppies bite because they don't have hands to check stuff out. Crate training can help, but life in a crate will be sad & probably cause licking, chewing & self destructive problems. Cannot leave anything in her range because as a puppy, all things within reach are hers. I suggest reading about puppies. Best wishes. GREAT PUP!
