Just saw this while looking for stuff on this tune. I like your style and the fact that you are explaining about where all these ideas are coming from and not just the fingering, which also just inspired me to subscribe! I am hoping you will put up another video or two dealing with the other solos in this tune! The other tune I am looking at right now, also from ARS and very similar to Spooky is, "So Into You". Thanks so much for this and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for some more videos.
Beautiful. Do you have the tab for the solo the exact way you play it? It would be a dream for me to be able to do that. I just started playing guitar last month. Thank you.
You got it spot on bro. Your tone was quite close as well. What did you use? I was discussing this very solo and sound with Barry once before he went away. He got that tone with a 71 gold top LP deluxe with mini hums plugged into a 100 watt Marshall into the low output channel. I could never understand over all the years how he used that guitar without it screaming feedback. Duh. Never thought about the low output option. Phil Keaggy and I both changed out the minis with PAFs to get rid of that squeal. Oh well. Good job! I loved this video.
Wow, great info thanks ! This is a 2000s Lp standard stock through a cheap little digital fender mustang practice Amp. I think I used the 59 bassman setting and cranked the gain. You kinda just play with it until you get the sound you want.
Good stuff. Thanks for posting!
Very nice presentation. Appreciate the focus on solo as well as cords.
👍 nice job on the solo ☺️
Definitely one of the most recognizable solos ever nice job.
solos from songs that had melodies incorporated parts of the melody in the solos. a holdover from jazz probably
Love it! I used to play this song. Not this good though! Lol!
Excellent playing and lesson! Subscribed!
awesome job
Great video! Thank you. Any chance you could do a video on the second Spooky solo?
Thanks!! Great playing 👌
Nice stuff!! Have to come back a few times😊

Thanks a lot Cliff. Its hard to know what to put out there with all the great music to learn ! Will check these ones out.
Awesome performance! May I ask what pedal did you use for the solo?
No pedal, just a fender mustang amp.
Dude u are great
Thank you sir. I'm trying to get better, and learn something new everyday.

Sorry this is a low budget operation, ha. No tab. Just learn the 5 positions of the blues scale, it will come in time.

Too much distorsion!!! 🎸
Yes, the ideal tone for this should be a little cleaner.
