    I would have titled the case " What The Deck"

    Willing to bet that deck was perfectly clean to be stained. Maybe it needed to be swept, but no way after two weeks it needs to be professionally cleaned.

    My husband does this kind of work and he always recommends the customer gets their deck/porch pressure washed and schedules it a day or so before the actual staining regardless he may charge more or less depending on how soiled the area is. He leaves it up to the customer because you definitely get a better result when you clean before staining. If it's not the desired result due to turning down having it cleaned first it's on them.

    But the quote didn't mention 'cleaning', so why all of a sudden would he have to do that extra for free?

    Seems to me the cleaning should have been in the original contract. If it wasn’t she’s out of gas. I’m glad he got the money for the stain.

    Honestly this entire process seems unprofessional. The contractor should have made contact with her prior to coming onto her property and I believe you should definitely make sure the deck has been cleaned before staining it.

      I'd be rude too if some guy just shows up in my backyard without alerting me.

    No one should ever walk on someone's property without consent. If I came home to a strange man on my deck I would call the police. No female would ever assume that was okay, not sure why men feel it isn't a big deal.

    Ha! She probably stained her deck the same color that the plaintiff was going to do, that’s why she’s pissed she has to pay him $79! Now she’s stuck with extra stain of the same color 😂

    Judge Marilyn I've stained tons of deck. You would dead wrong on this one. A deck only 6-8 weeks old only needed to be swept. The defendant seemed like a nasty person.

    • @jvillebil13
      @jvillebil13 3 часа назад +1

      @@jeanicelewis510 If it has mold and mildew on it and food and stuff all over it yeah you can do a pressure wash but if it's relatively clean blow sweep or blow it.

    Not defending her, I believe she needed to pay it, but why as a Contractor would you just waltz into someones yard and start doing an estimate or begin working without first making contact with the owner? If it happened to me I would just say straight away, sorry I am going to get someone who is more professional.
