As you can see, the real deal with Herman is that he's Mr. Burns' assistant. He's in his early forties, is unmarried, and currently resides in Springfield.
And clearly Homer climbed the tree with Herman holding Homer in a choke hold on the way up. Many other instances can be explained with a prosthetic arm.
When i first saw "22 short films", i thought the worst thing Herman was gonna do to Wiggum and Snake was beat the crap out of them, i didn't understand the implications of what was going on until many years later when i saw Pulp Fiction.
In the simpsons comic number 100 special, they actually revealed that Herman was overworked so much in making simpsons comics, that he wore his arm down to a nub.
I've brought it up before, but why does Ned Flanders like The Beatles so much? And how did he get a new house built after it was destroyed by hurricane and then botched by the entire town?
In the Season 6 episode, "The Springfield Connection," Snake plays Three-Card Monte with customer who bears a striking resemblance to him, whom he refers to as, "bro." Is this individual really Snake's brother? Are they in cahoots? Is he part of a secret government cloning project? Is his name "Liquid?"

I have a few mysteries regarding ages: 1. How did Apu's kids age when no one else seemingly did? 2. Waylon Smithers inconsistency with his age. In the episode "Bye, Bye, Nerdie" Homer tells Lisa he had a bully problem and it flashes back to when Homer was in high school and he was beating up Waylon Smithers so they must be around the same age which would be late 30s. Yet in "The Blunder Years" when The Simpsons and Chief Wiggum crawl up Mr Burns Corpse Hatch...er Innocence tube and show Burns the skull they have of Waylon Smithers Sr, he says he has been waiting for this day for 30 years. Assuming the film Mr Burns shows is set at that time, 30 years in the past, then Waylon Smithers jr cannot be around the same age as Homer due to him being a baby when Waylon Sr dies. 3. How old is Mr Burns really? 4. What is up with Ned Flanders age, Rod and Todd's age and when the Flanders and The Simpsons met? In one older flashback episode "Lisa's First Word", The Simpsons meet the Flanders when they first move into their house and Ned and Todd come over to greet them. In another they meet while Marge and Homer are dating and in the episode "Manger Things", Homer is at the birth of Todd and Todd is given the middle name Homer after Homer helps Maude give birth to him. How can that be if Todd was already born when he and Ned met the Simpsons in Lisa's First Word? 5. Did Mary Spuckler age? In the episode "Moonshine River" she looked slightly taller than Bart and maybe slightly older than she was when we first see her in "Apocalypse Cow"
I think everyone aged, but parents forget ages: thus Maggie is nearly four (so still technically a baby), which is why Apu's children are in preschool - Mary Spuckler just grew slightly. I don't think the film of Waylon was set at 30 years in the past, but 40. Mr. Burns being born in 1906 and also being a postwar kid can be explained by dementia, a la Wayne Gretsky's dad. I think the Flanders were older students at the school and later met the Simpsons as adults.
Given that it’s implied 9 months passed before the octuplets were born, and Maggie didn’t age then. I’m pretty sure Maggie has had two birthdays where she turned one, so maybe she’s two?
@@joshslater2426 When Kang was revealed to her real father, it was her second birthday. When Lisa went to Sprooklyn (sic), she said "Oh Maggie, don't ever turn two," which is a Peter Pan reference" "Two is the beginning of the end." Thus, Maggie is no longer one.
And Sanjay's son, Jamshed, ages from a toddler ("Oh, how I have waited for this day." [cocks shotgun]) to a man in his twenties all while Maggie is still a one-year-old. To add even more confusion, Wiggum was a campus security guard when Homer's mom sabotaged Burns's lab and abandoned Homer and Abe. What's the deal with Smithers? Why is he lusting after Mr. Burns, the man who raised him since he was a baby?! Who ever wrote that episode about Smither's biological father didn't think this one through.
I believe one poster r/TheSimpsons speculated she will be a punk with "an oral fixation" in elementary school: one episode shows she uses the pacifier since her family are shown to constantly argue... not seeing the fact she can talk, which also implies what a deleted post on TV Tropes theorized, that Lisa is NOT a genius at all - Maggie can also talk with Stewie.

No, the story where Herman lost his arm in a school bus accident might still bet true. Arms do grow back after all. Right? That's also why his missing arms seemingly switched places at times. His right arm grew back, but then he lost his left arm in another unseen incident. It's like, Herman is destined to only have one arm at any given time.
I kinda like Herman, but I suppose not seeing too much of him means the mysteries surrounding him can keep growing. I dread to think what he would’ve done to Wiggum and Snake in 22 short films, but I always thought that was the episode that ultimately killed any credibility behind his history.
