Hi inger really nice to see where you are living and that you are experiencing snow! You must be missing the warmth of the sun, your garden and that wonderful view you used to have back home. I looked up Lilli Palmer and noticed she was also an artist so I had a look at her abstracts which were very good. The Red Letter, is such an old classic but I have not read it but I think it is a moral tale that might be a challenge to read in that the writing is very old fashioned. I am going to read Under the Greenwood Tree by Thomas Hardy, I have actually made a start on it and so far it is going to be quite hard to read as everything about it is very ye old England with lots of characters and not much happens, well not so far! But I am determined to carry on! Still reading the Morville Hours by Katherine Swift which is full of interesting things about history, gardens and insects! Sorry you didn't enjoy your book, but at least you didn't give up! Have a good rest of the week!

@@carolinesimmill4962 Hi Caroline! Yes, I have started to miss the sunny days of South Africa, but we’ve had some sun here the past couple of days which has been nice. Different weather conditions all bring their own kind of beauty, and we’ve not had proper snow in my hometown in SA for so long, so I have been enjoying the snow too.
Yes, I’ve also seen that Lilli was an artist, though I haven’t looked up any of her paintings, I will have to do so. The Red Letter is her most popular book, I think, and is a sort of fictionalised autobiography of her life and marriage to Rex Harrison.
I’m glad to hear your reading is going well, even if the Hardy is slow. I also found that nothing much happens for the first half of the book when I read Far from the Madding Crowd, so perhaps all of his books are like that.
Have a good rest of your week and thanks for watching, as always :)
