I’m outraged that I paid so much money to get a perpetual license for zbrush in 2019 and then the company sells it to Maxon. When I bought it, I bought it understanding that I would get all future upgrades free of charge. I guess that isn’t true.
honestly i hate maxon, but pixologic only promised a one year update, they were extremely generous and performing the impossible for so many years by giving free upgrade. I got my license during zbrush summit 2021.. the bad news hit on 14 December. I am still feeling disappointed with their decision to go with Maxon.
Lets just say, there are 200,00 legal perpetual license owner out there. If each annual update cost USD100, and half of the these license owners are willing to do annual update, Maxon could easily make 10 Million just from annual upgrade.
$600 is not "absolutely atrocious" it's pretty much better than every other software when you take the sub-model into account. I paid about $400 around 15 years ago & it's the best software investment I've ever made. I've gotten 15 years of never versions for free. Maya is $200 a fucking year.
It's fine to use for legacy features. It's just that surprise surprise... the switch to Maxon didn't bring anything special at all, and Zbrush's reputation for mind-blowing updates has vanished.
If I were sponsored, Maxon would not like 8/10 of my most recent videos. Will you please layout a case that shows Zbrush is not the best tool for the job in regards to sculpting?

Gunna pirate the fuck out of Zbrush. They’re rich already, don’t need all that money, aren’t losing a physical z brush sale just cos I got it and the art world will be a better place with my passion being added to the community 😉 Here I come! My own fam were salty af when I used to get games they’d spend their hard earned rations to collect. No wonder those clowns don’t have cars or any kinda vehicle license yet. They’re subscribed to pop culture so as long as long as there’s a product to sell and they have a dollar to spend, you can be sure it will be wasted funding another man’s dream life rather than being saved or invested for themselves. I came to make games, not buy them and yeh.. no… you ain’t getting a cheap motorbike’s worth of money for something I can get for free.

I see what you are saying…but This was $659 per upgrade. (Although that is all obsolete now) After you already bought the full version of Zbrush

I have Amd radeon integrated graphics of size 512 mb can i use z brush smoothly?
It's hard for me to say bc I'm not a hardware guy, BUT Zbrush is CPU based and I have used it quite successfully on very lowend/ old laptops.
