  • This video is for informational purposes only and it is based on our experiences when travelling in and out of Honolulu (Daniel K. Inouye) airport.
    We tell you some tips for arrival, departure, and how to get to your connecting flights. We show you around the airport and I do apologize for our shaky video. I was doing my best to film while trying not to make security angry about it. 😜
    We tell you different ways to get to your hotel or resort from the airport and we go through a few of the costs involved. We tell you how to get to the car rental counters and where you find rental cars as well as ride share pick up points, shuttle pick up points and also where the courtesy phones are located.
    We hope you find this video helpful and that it alleviates a bit of stress when traveling to Oahu and the Hawaiian Islands.
    Please consider subscribing to our channel if you feel it is worthwhile. Thank you so much for watching. 😊

    We are flying American Airlines next week from the mainland in. How far from the gates to the baggage claim and ground transportation/Turo? Have a bad back and just trying to get an idea how far and long the walk is

      Hi! There are a lot of gates so it depends which gate your plane pulls into. Count on a 10 minute walk just to be safe.
      The rental car shuttle is outside the baggage claim area. You can grab the shuttle or walk it. My husband jogged it on our last trip and said he won't be doing that again because it was further than he thought. 😜
      Last I had heard, the airport was imposing restrictions on Turo and the cars needed to be left in terminal parking, perhaps that has changed? Double check with your Turo host as they will know the most recent rules about pick-up.
      Enjoy your trip! Makapu'u hike is an easy, fully paved, walkway with benches along the way. I highly recommend it. 😊

    Take a taxi? Is this the 1980’s? We do rideshare now

      I guess that depends on where you come from.
      In certain parts of the world taxis are a better option and/or ride share isn't legal and/or a bunch of other reasons. Alternately, In some countries ride share is definitely the way to go. It totally depends on where you are visiting from and what you are comfortable with. On Oahu, I use either or rent.

      I don't know what acrod is sorry. I don't believe there is any free parking at the airport.

    Real ID ? Wouldn’t your Passport be your real ID ?

    • @newtravelescapes
      @newtravelescapes  Год назад +1

      Yes, for sure, your passport is enough ☺️ but many American's choose not to get a passport and prefer to travel within their own country. Real ID is a more advanced (digital) level of identity rather than some States driver's licence (or if you don't have a driver's license) and it will be required for American's who choose not to have a passport.

      @@newtravelescapes That makes sense. They were referring to domestic travel and not international travel 🤙
