I think the live version on the snap ep and Wembley gig is even better. Even more passion and energy. Great video. It’s great to have you back posting Jam / Weller videos.
I could keep posting Jam stuff for a long time yet. ;-) However... I did/do like other bands, and from time to time, memories of those kinda call out to me to be learned. My own mid-life thing, I guess... BTW, I was thinking of doing a bit of that "OOOO, Ah!, Oooo--Oooo, Ah!" on this video, but decided not to at the last moment. Very cool live, yes.
Love the Jam and small faces. I was trying to learn this stuff back in the 80s but my instructor wasn’t interested so I stupidly gave up. Listening to this I want to have another go at it. What guitar would you recommend for starters ?(love the sound of yours but probably a little pricey for me).
Hey Swift Games... Thanks for the post. Your gear really isn't the important thing right? But rather, your interest in and love for this particular music. So long as you have a guitar (even an acoustic) you can learn this. If you are starting from scratch with gear, it depends upon your budget, of course. If you want to keep your investment small-ish and manageable, I would suggest a Squier Fender product guitar and one of their smaller/ practice amps. I also use a Boss ME-50 multi-effects pedal (now 15 years old or so), and one of those can be had for around $100 on Ebay. All told, your into it maybe $500 and you're good to go. ;-)
Marc... That's my buddy--Mark--playing the Small Faces version on his Liechtenstein Rick. Rather than have me ride the train home late, Mark actually drove me to my AirBnB from a From The Jam gig in Swindon when I was over there in 2017.
Absolutely fabulous ❤
quick heads up I have just gotten a strike from Warners for my cover (and tutorial) of this song...thought I'd better warn ya!!
Great sound!
Really hard to duplicate anywhere close to what Weller gets on the studio version of this song.

@@modfather1965 Great times. The Jam version, to my ears, and how I have always played it is the same as the original.
