A co worker of mine has one that said it was cutting out and there was a wire loose. I took it home and fixed the external speaker wire that was loose. Then I did a complete alignment check on it and found that it was fine Just needed a minor tweak here and there. Works great.
These radios must hold the record for the most abused radios out there. Connex cannibals have eaten heavily again at this banquet. They might as well use a 12lb. hammer and chisel for fine tuning and adjustments. You never cease to enthrall and amaze me/us, with your restablishment of a completely trashed radio. Got a call about a Cobra 29's lights dimming when keying up. Met the driver. He keyed up...the Cobra's lights did not dim, the dash lights did. I told him you do not need a CB tech, you need a Kenworth tech to find the loose wire/ bad ground in the cab! LOL. I will go through his radio anyway. On a note from our last text...What do you mean, stay out of trouble? LOL! I have told my Wife for years that I am an idiot magnet. It did not take long for her to realize I was not kidding. I tell the unwitting "Where tact fails, force prevails". "Please do not push this encounter to that result". "A wise old warrior will walk away, and live to fight another day". "Grasshopper philosophy avoids confusion and contusions, resulting in bandaids and brain damage later".The same applies for your radios guys. Send them to Matt to avoid the golden screwdiver altercation, requiring bandaids and brain damage. For a finely tuned, aligned and properly operating unit, you must listen to the master of radio repair. You Rock, Matt. Smilin', I'm off the key. 😑🦗
Thanks again for another outstanding video! I'm sure that we all love your videos when they include measures on the Bird, 'scope and the SA. I was wondering if you could one day show what was the SINAD before the Rx tune? I'll like to get an idea of what amount of improvement can be made. Thanks!
What ever happened to those stretched out slinky coils?? The 54-56 MHz trap coils that were spread like a slinky?? It was clean on the spec analyzer so I’m guessing you addressed them….only thing worse than ripping out tr32 is seeing those coils stretched out….serious ghost watts for sure
