I love that you're constantly changing your space around. My husband and I visit antique malls a lot, and the ones that never ever change or sell things because they so unreasonably high priced, we call them "storage units" or "museums". We figure the owner is just using the space to display and store their treaures and aren't actually interested in selling anything. You have very inviting spaces that would definitely draw me in to look around and shop.
I am just constantly amazed at how skilled you are at displaying everything...that changes DAILY!! It looks so fun!!! But, I also know it is a ton of hard work! Fantastic job!!!
🍄 You we’re asking about Quickbooks, I must say it’s been a huge benefit to my eBay & my Booth. It’s easy to set up. You basically enter dates item description or item number, purchase price, asking price, discounts/sales, shipping supplies, gas, you can even deduct square footage in your home that you are using for storage in your home or storage unit. It’s less than $10. Dollars per month, less if you pay upfront for the year. Or just auto pay every month. Love it!! So easy worth every penny. It’s one of those things that you shake your head and wonder “why didn’t I do this sooner”. Booth looks beautiful as always. 😁 🌱 👍 👍 👍
Track your inventory! It's so important. The simplest way to do this is a running Excel spreadsheet. Way easier and less expensive than Quickbooks. Also, use inventory numbers...something simple.
Girl your a master at your craft 🤗 booth looks Amazing 👏 😍 Everytime you find wrappers in your booth, carry it back to your neighbors booth from which it Came!!!!!!!
Amanda, just for book keeping starters, put a notebook and zipper pouch in your truck. Make yourself a spreadsheet in Xcel. Enter date, purchase price pd, description, ect Just take an hour a week to enter. You will be amazed how handy it comes in when you price your items. You will figure out your own system and what info you need to keep track of. I do this when I Go to auctions, so i can refer to the sheet when i catalog an item. It takes effort and time but well worth it. So grab your receipt pouch and keep your books up! Hope this helps, don’t forget your overhead, COGS, when pricing!
I have learned so much by watching you!!! I have had a Antique booth for about 32 years and in the last year watching you I have done so much better selling !!!!!! 😊 THANKS
Great upload, I totally do not have a streamlined inventory tracking system, so hearing that you didn't but are still so organized gave me hope. Thanks for the transparency, Amanda.
My daughter, who is a recent business grad, set me up with an awesome spreadsheet to keep track of everything. She got her pick of items and it is so handy!
I just finished watching vlogmas 2023 and this video popped up as a suggestion. Two years later and the wrappers are still being dropped in your booth, lol!
Go daddy is a really good bookkeeping software. My reseller Genie is awesome too. I'm getting ready to open a booth again. I can't wait!! You're such an inspiration. I love how you set everything up.
I'm catching up on your older videos and chuckle at the candy wrappers left in your booth but I know I'd find it exceedingly annoying. I'd put the empty wrappers in your neighbor's mint bucket just to annoy them right back. lol Always enjoy watching how you restyle your booth!
Have you thought about a tiny trash basket or bin? Or find one for the persons booth and ask if they will put one. It could honestly just be a small basket with a trash sign.
I love your videos & came here to say the trash is my booth drives me crazy!! And the misc items that show up but yes - booth life 🤣 I enjoy watching you put your space together & I’m loving vlogmas! Thank you for sharing! - Heather
Always fun to watch and learn from you! Amanda, I know it's not your responsibility to take care of the mint wrappers, and yes, people are rude, but could you find a little box or basket and put a small note on it that says "deposit mint wrappers here, " and place it on a table in your booth? It would be an interesting experiment to see if people use it versus the floor or other places in your booth. Maybe your neighbor would see it and get the hint? Or better yet, put a sign on his basket that says please deposit wrapper before moving on to other booths...and set that basket right down in his booth. My guess is the custodian gets a little irritated about those wrappers all over as well.
I always kept hard candy in my booth- put it in the back to stear traffic into the space/ left a sign and crock for wrappers ( sign noted the crock made a perfect trash can and was for sale🤩. Elizabeth
I have never been to a live auction either. I find it so fascinating though. I started watching online auctions that are within 50 miles from my house & it’s shocking how many things get overlooked or maybe people get tired at the end. But that is when you get the Best deals. For example I seen the item pictures ahead of time and put a star ⭐️ on all the lots I was interested in. And there were single high priced items & lots that would contain 3 - 25 items of ( Carnival Glass or Fiesta Wear ) Bids start at $1 dollar at this particular online auction. I was not bidding just watching. I got up early bidding ended Sunday morning at 7am. I got up grabbed my laptop to see what the items actually sold for, WoW!! I was soooo sorry I didn’t just go for it and bid. The Box of 34 pieces of Fiesta Wear sold for $6. Dollars 😱. The Carnival Glass was a gorgeous set of Red Diamond cut to Clear, it had 6 Goblets, two Pedestal Bowls, Scalloped edge platter, it sold for less than $20. Dollars. I was just in shock. It was wonderful & I never gave online auctions a second thought because shipping is crazy expensive and I Collect Antique Glass & furniture. But at those prices you can afford the high cost of shipping. It’s great fun. :) search (( Facebook marketplace )). 🍀
Hello Amanda, I recently stumbled onto one of your videos and I have to say "I totally admire you." YOU are what I've wanted to be!! I LOVE thrifting, painting, making and selling my treasures for profit. Question: Do you ever have days you just aren't into shopping or doing anything or need a day to yourself? If so how do you cope with those times? I'm needing help getting RESTARTED!! 😩 I lost my husband very suddenly to a motorcycle accident last year and haven't been able to pickup a paintbrush or work in my business. (Bad thing...I love the thrifting and hunting for treasures so much I've accumulated quite a stash.) You are very talented and great at what you do. I'm in Ohio, the cost of a booth in one of the antique malls would run about $100-125 per month, but I'd love to be able to do something like that. Thank you for all your wonderful, helpful and informative videos.
I am so incredibly sorry about your husband! Totally understandable that you would be having a tough time finding motivation right now. I hope your passion finds you again soon ❤️
Lovin' these vlogmas videos!!! Where do you get your hairpin legs for your risers at a cost efficient price? I'd love to make some, but the legs are very pricey. Thanks.
So if you purchase items from other antique stores, for instance the cork pieces that were $20…does that mean you are selling them in your space for double or higher? Even if they aren’t worth that much or is it just to fit the aesthetic of your booth? No judgment, just curious.
For inventory per each year take a picture of the item and mark the price with your iPhone and keep it in a folder. It’s what I’ve done for years and it really helps. Now and then clear out the things that have sold. Burns my ass too when people leave their garbage. It’s that hard to keep your wrapper in your pocket? 🙄 you were so patient with those people blocking the parking lot. Your videos are awesome btw
Be sure to vote for the right people when voting so we can do away with these high prices -small businesses have a hard time making it with gas prices this high
Girl, we are all feeling the hit from gas prices rising… and grocery prices! I know there are some people out there who don’t even notice & that’s great for them but for the majority of America, it’s a struggle right now. Thanks to certain people in certain places… it’s maddening for me. To think that we are here now and absolutely shouldn’t be, and the fact that those who have put us in this situation won’t feel the difference in their lives in any way, but women like myself, with 2 young boys and one teenager, are working harder than ever just to barely scrape by. It will be an absolute miracle if I can manage to give any sort of Christmas this year. 2 weeks out and I’ve bought nothing…. Sorry, now I’m venting. 😒 I’m just so sick of all this political correct BS where people have to apologize for speaking the truth out of fear of being “cancelled”. That’s the reality we are currently live in… Certain ppl can screw with our lives & livlihoods and if you don’t obediently fall in line and welcome every little ounce then you are the one who suffers consequences. Not the ones causing the destruction of society and the American dream. I genuinely fear for the future of our children. Sorry, rant over! My only point is… talk openly about it unapologetically, I can’t speak for everyone but I know people like myself appreciate hearing people tell it like it is.
Maybe there’s an app that will help you with inventory? One where you can easily take a picture of the item with the price you paid. Keep in mind, this is a just an idea, not from experience. 🙂
Hi Amanda, I am a new subscriber... found you today and love your content. How much are your 2 panaramics? spelled wrong lol I love them and hope I can buy 1 If you ship at all.Let me know if you do.Man I wish I lived closer to get some of your dressers too Have an awesome day, cindy in arizona :)
Seriously love all your vlogs and ideas. I'm a thrifter and have a huge collection of "stuff" all over my home, hidden away. I'm so close to renting a little booth and giving it a try. Oh...and we all know why gas prices are like they are. And food and general stuff we need to live. Hopefully voters will wake up by the time our country votes again. 😉🤨🤷♀️
I was about to say- she needs to stop apologizing for having a truck- especially since EVs are now exploding right and left- hope we can get fair election this time around.

I don't mind finding other vendors' items in my booth. I like to think it's because the shopper found something in my booth they liked better! 😊
