Monteiro House | A Harmonious Retreat in the Woods

The project began with selecting a picturesque plot of land, chosen specifically to fulfill a childhood dream of having a house nestled between the woods with a tree swing. The design process emphasized preserving the natural topography and trees, resulting in a home that seamlessly integrates with its forested surroundings. Positioned in front of a serene internal lake within the condominium, the house features minimal masonry and extensive glass to maximize natural light and views, making it an ideal retreat for weekends.
The design incorporates Cumaru wood and stone bricks to harmonize with the shaded environment provided by the trees. The house includes two suites, with the main suite featuring a private garden. The open-plan living room and kitchen extend to an external patio, creating an additional, highly utilized living space. The pool area, completed in a later stage, is strategically placed to enjoy sunlight amidst the shade. Inside, the home showcases personal design touches, including pieces by Sérgio Rodrigues and a Murano collection, reflecting the owners' unique style and adding character to the space.
