- Craft Recordings is pleased to announce a vinyl reissue of Creed’s Human Clay, in celebration of the best-selling album’s 20th anniversary. In stores October 11th, the two-LP set is housed in a gatefold jacket and marks the first vinyl availability of the album since a limited edition pressing in 1999. Human Clay, which has sold over 20 million units worldwide, includes hits “Higher,” “What If,” “Are You Ready?” and the GRAMMY Award-winning single, “With Arms Wide Open.”
After the success of their grunge-imbued debut album, My Own Prison, Creed went back into the studio with producer John Kurzweg (Puddle of Mudd, Godsmack) to record material for their follow-up. Though the Tallahassee, FL-based band had already found enormous success on the rock charts with their multiplatinum-selling 1997 debut, 1999’s Human Clay would make them mainstream stars. Driven by the anthemic, first single “Higher,” Human Clay debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200, and Creed quickly became one of the biggest bands in the world. “Higher” spent a whopping 57 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at Number Seven. In July of the following year, the band scored their first Number One hit on the pop charts with the third single, “With Arms Wide Open.” The track-which front man Scott Stapp wrote when he found out that he was going to be a father-earned the band a GRAMMY for Best Rock Song in 2001. To-date, Human Clay has sold well over 11 million copies in the U.S., earning a rare Diamond certification from the RIAA, joining the ranks of the Beatles’Abbey Road, Prince’s Purple Rain and Nirvana’s Nevermind. It remains one of the top-selling albums of all-time in the United States.
Creed’s enormous success is largely due to the prolific writing team of Stapp and guitarist Mark Tremonti, who founded the band together in 1993. Their winning combination of driving guitar riffs, rousing hooks and introspective lyrics earned them legions of loyal fans around the world. Following the release of their first two albums, the four-piece-which also included bassist Brian Marshal and drummer Scott Phillips-became the first band ever to have seven consecutive Number One singles on Billboard’s Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. Creed’s third album,Weathered (2001), also debuted at Number One, and produced several popular singles, including Top Ten hits “My Sacrifice” and “One Last Breath.” Though Creed announced their breakup in 2004, they briefly reunited in 2009 to release Full Circle. Heavier than their previous albums, Full Circle debuted at Number Two on the Billboard 200, proving the incredible staying power of the band.

I know it sounds weird to say this, but Creed was the best concert I've ever been to! I saw them live with my mom (RIP) back during the 2012 Human Clay tour, I'm telling you, these guys had that crowd more hyped than any other bands I've seen at that venue.
Creed sounded exactly like the album, Scott's vocals were freaking perfect, everyone was killing it.
I will cherish that memory forever because my mom was with me, she passed away in January of 2018 and she was my best friend.
Her name was Kim and she was 56yo when she passed away, she was a beautiful soul and she made me who I am. RIP Mom, I love you and I miss you very much. 🙏❤

Creed was my very first concert, at 14. I vividly remember exactly that. Scott's vocals sounded just like the album. It was amazing. I'll never forget that one. My Mom also took me to it. RIP Mom.

This album came out the year my twin brother died. 6ft was played at his funeral. It truly was a turning point for me. I can never forget these songs. I listened to them during a very hard time in my life!

Today is Saturday, February 27th, 2021and it's 4:29 p.m. (in Illinois) and I just finished listening to this song. I just woke up from a nap as well and I started singing part of a song, I typed the lyrics into RUclips and this song came up and so I gave it a listen. I realize that I haven't listened to this song in almost 10 yrs. My mom used to listen to Creed, Seether, Evanesence, Linkin Park, etc and she always played these songs for my brother and me, but after a while, she stopped. I ended up moving to another state to live with my dad and now, 5 yrs later I remember this song. I'll be 16 soon and when that day comes that would've marked 10 yrs. Thank you, Creed for this song I plan to use it at my sweet 16. Love you guys!!💖💖

Throughout all of Creed's albums they got better and better with each successive album. Most people picked up on that immediately, I think. Not to say that any of their albums were bad because they definitely were not. Great albums one after the other. What amazes me most is that almost every song on each album are unbelievably great all bu themselves. Their greatest hits album, in my opinion, would and should be every song from every album. None of the songs are missing anything or weak in an area. They all shine.

I've had a sad night, so I did what I always do when I feel like I messed up, have a drink and listen to some Creed.
This song came on, I've not heard it before. Now I can't stop bawling. Creed get a bad rep sometimes, but like I've said before on the My Own Prison video, this music is perfect for when you're feeling deeply down or fed up. Just something so comforting about it.

I love the way they broke the cookie cutter approach to how a song is written. The verses are punched up more than the chorus. Usually the chorus is punched up, and the verses are softer. Thought that was unique and a great twist, i love it. The story this song tells has an emotional weight all its own.

I'll be honest, I was never a big fan of Creed, found them kinda mediocre. Not good enough to be remembered fondly forever, but good enough that I wouldn't just forget they existed. My personal opinion. BUT...the break that starts at 3:58 is an absolutely fantastic full-force rock riff (Tremonti is excellent at creating a full and dynamic sound) and also shows off Scott Stapp's excellent vocal range. I come back every so often to listen to this song with very fond memories.
I wrote alit of stuff that my preecher took from me😢.!!!??? I went crawling as my star dimed fell as death arose from the mist i sat astonished of it all like a shock remebering treatment you cant forget. Every time at the altar.
