Of course, please. Bring the King Pelé in his prime. Rivelino tried but couldn't find anything to make fun of Pelé. He looked for some weakness in the King to make a joke. However, he had to settle with reality. And according to Rivelino's own words, the reality was: "Pelé did everything in football very well. He headed well, kicked well with his right leg, easily kicked with his left, dribbled well, passed well, was strong, defended, he was complete. There was no negative point I could mention." So, not having anything to say about the King, Rivelino went up to Pelé himself and said, "Hey, bro, you wanted to be left-handed, didn't you?" Haha. In this video, Rivelino gets emotional when talking about Pelé. ruclips.net/video/3Db6ju8mFDo/видео.html The 1970 Brazil team had fantastic stars from midfield to the front in their starting lineup. They were Gerson, Rivelino, Jairzinho, Pelé, and Tostão. In this video, Rivelino reminisces about plays that Pelé made on the field that these stars couldn't see. In other words, Pelé's thinking was different from the other stars. As a Brazilian, I recommend for you to make a video about Tostão. He was an amazing player that played for Cruzeiro. One of the fewest team, with tostão, that beat Santos with Pele to win the Brazilian championship in 1966. One of the best players that Brazil had.
The 1970 Brazilian team that won the World Cup, was without any doubt the greatest team ever to play in the World Cup finals. They were absolutely majestic. The last goal by Carlos Alberto, in Brazil's win against Italy, was a team goal of outstanding brilliance.
But 4 years later they were just a shadow of themselves. Best Brazil team ever imho the 1982 team around Zico and Socrates. They failed because of arrogance and Paolo Rossi.

Excellent video. Rivellino, Tostão, Gérson, Jairzinho, Dirceu Lopes, Ademir da Guia and him, his majesty, the king Pelé. All hyper-talented midfielders playing at the same time in top Brazilian clubs, during the second half of the 60’s and first half of the 70’s. If they played today, all these players would be total protagonists in top European teams. No wonder that, in a space of 12 years, between 1958 and 1970, Brazil won 3 World Cups. This is proof that, in those days, the best football in the world was played in Brazil, by Brazilian players.

The list is endless. But if I had to pick one as a fan, I would plump on Roberto Rivelino, the most combative and creative midfielder any time, any where. No one in his right mind would say Rivelino was better than Pelé, not even Rivelino himself. That said, he was an awesome player indeed. I often saw him playing for my club, Fluminense, from 1975 to 1978, at Maracana stadium. Rivelino was a midfield maestro and dangerous when attacking. Great times.
I loved watching that 1970 Brazil team live at that fantastic world cup as a child in Primary school. Rivellino was a reserve to Edu who played alongside Pele at Santos. However, Rivellino was the best Dribbler in a team of world-class dribblers and had to be included in that Awesome team. Yes, as a Brazilian, watching football for more than 50 years I confirm. Rivelino was better than Pele. Or any other. Of course, always considering this football season (60's, 70's, 80's). Rivelino was unrivaled in his dribbling and shooting skills, the basis of football. Pelé played in attack, Rivelino was a midfielder, but he still scored many amazing goals. See in 13:01 an example of what he was able to do with the ball and his opponents. Incomparable!
When he was the senior player of the Brazil team against England at Wembley he put his foot on the ball and rolled it as though to go right except he didn't he immediately rolled it back to the left wrongfooting the entire England team. I'd never seen it before but being a fabulous player myself I immediately used it when I played. It's hard to believe but I became even greater
He had one great World Cup 1970, but Pelé was the main attraction. Got destroyed by Cruyff & Holland, at the 1974 World Cup. And post 1975. Zico took over as Brazil's star player. Sadly, that's the reason he's not so remembered today. He was always overshadowed by the players i listed at various stages throughout the 1970s. He was without doubt. A fantastically skilled player. Possesing powerful dribbling. Improvised, ball manoeuvres ( stepovers, elastico ). Fabulous range of pass. Long or short. Reminiscent of Sir Bobby Charlton. An incredible power shot. Again reminiscent of Sir Bobby Charlton. And a powerful free kick taker.
What a BEAUTIFUL video! I don't remember having seen such a beautiful tribute to Rivellino by any Brazilian content creator. There are just two minor corrections I'd like to make: the Brazilian coach in the run-up to the 1966 World Cup wasn't João Saldanha, but Vicente Feola (the same one who had coached the 1958 winning side). And Fluminense in 1975 was no "humble club", not by any stretch of the imagination. It was the most victorious side in the history of the Rio league (a position they kept until this century, when they were overtaken by Flamengo in 2007 or 2008), the team of the elite in what was still the cultural capital of the country and a very successful side even before the Machine, having won the Rio state league in 1969 (with Tele Santana), 1971 and 1973 and the Brazilian league in 1970.
...this makes me wonder how interesting it would be if a brilliant must watch player stayed in South America his whole career and us no south American based viewers had to pay closer attention to that said league....
Congrats, great video. Some comments: 1) Rivellino was a genious, but never better than Pelé. Never. No way. 2) He started playing at Indiano, not Barcelona. 3) He first joined Palmeiras, but he left the club after one week because the younger's coach, Mário Travaglini, didn't give him any attention. 10 years later, Travaglini was his coach at Fluminense. When Travaglini tried to give him any instruction, Rivellino used to say: "Not for me. I don't have anything to learn from you. I know what I have to do." 4) Although both used the number 10 in their clubs, he had never played at the same position of Pelé. Rivellino was a classic and complete midfielder, and Pelé a man who was the wizard of the link between the midfielders and the forwards. In 1970, Zagallo adapted Rivellino to the left wing.

I followed Rivelino in Brazilian football between 1969 and the end of his career in about 1980. He was technically brilliant but lacked that leadership spirit that would lead his teams to victories, which is the opposite of Maradona, with whom he was sometimes compared. During his ten years playing for the wealthy and popular club Corinthians he never won a championship, something he actually managed to get when moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1985 to play for Fluminense. He was expected to have a dominating performance for Brazil in the 1974 world cup but did not play well in the key match against Holland , which was dominated by Cruijff and Neeskens.
During his time in Al-Hilal, Rivellino chased the opponent player and followed him outside the pitch while the game is running lol (There's a video on YT).

Keep up the good work.. great content
Excellent
...this makes me wonder how interesting it would be if a brilliant must watch player stayed in South America his whole career and us no south American based viewers had to pay closer attention to that said league....
Congrats, great video. Some comments:
1) Rivellino was a genious, but never better than Pelé. Never.
I know what I have to do."
4) Although both used the number 10 in their clubs, he had never played at the same position of Pelé. Rivellino was a classic and complete midfielder, and Pelé a man who was the wizard of the link between the midfielders and the forwards. In 1970, Zagallo adapted Rivellino to the left wing.
Yeah..he is good..especially power shoot..GOAT

Saw him play and score in the 1970 world cup. Was one of my most favorites among Pele and Jairzinho.
Vi-o
He one of best players that brazil got
During his time in Al-Hilal, Rivellino chased the opponent player and followed him outside the pitch while the game is running lol (There's a video on YT).
The tv panel on the 1970 world cup called him revelation.
I remember rivelino, great player
Dude has an unreal channel. Thought he had 700k
legnedry Brazilian Team that captured imaginations twice in this century once in 1970, and the other time in 1982.

Rivelino should of played in the world cup of 1982 & 1986
Can you do one on Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Isco (what went wrong) thanks!!
These are interesting ideas, someone else said James so I will add him to my growing list. Thanks for watching
Gareth Bale in the "what went wrong"? category?? Have you seen how much he's achieved?! 🤣 🥇🏆
@@JayNubi we all know what went wrong with Bale. He was doing very well until 2016, then Real Madrid fans did boo him and the love story between Golf and Bale started.
Very nice.
