I've heard of no negative interaction at all, other than the Liberty Incident which amazingly enough, you failed to bring up. Do I really have to recite your lines, too??
depends on the seniority and status of the NCO. Officers and enlisted are not expected to fraternize , but can become really close when both are in a leadership position in the same outfit. A 20 plus year veteran might be close to a colonel or so, but even this is rare.

I've been a military enthusiast since I was a kid. Actually I been a naval enthusiast .
