The thing is, I think Asian countries are more obsessed with investing money on skin care products than make ups. EDIT: I didn't know this comment reached 9k likes so uhm just to clear the air, I'm Filipino-Korean-Mexican.... and I do spend a decent amount of money on skincare 😂 but I also do make up... but I don't like the feel of heavy makeup on my skin.. I prefer just an ampoule amount of bb cream, some eyeliner, blush, and eyeshadow. Anyway, take care guys! Stay safe!
Miho Olivar yes because they rarely or they don't like that much heavy makeup applied on their faces and that's why they have flawless & pretty pretty skin
In asian countries their makeup is more about enhancing your natural beauty and making it look like you’re not wearing makeup so instead of heavy foundation, contour, etc they focus more on that natural beauty so skincare is definitely a big part of it
I’m Asian and not we are not obsessed with skin care. It’s just that when you have good skin, it’s easier to find basic make up that works for you without hiding your natural beauty. While I admire creating different looks with make up, It’s simply not practical and too time and energy consuming to have to live up to a certain look. Hence good skin care definitely outweighs thick make up.
i would say we def invest in products that make us look younger and overall our skin healthier, our skincare is much more complex and we have minimal makeup(most of the time)

They've seen and learnt so much, besides, they know what they want to go for. Being in the spotlight every single day is hard, they can't afford to look bad right?

@Imani Alexander You just generalize the rest of koreans. How did you know that all of them get plastic surgeries? Yes, SOME of them got a lot of surgeries. But, not ALL of them. And it's none of you business anyways, wether they ain't natural or not, You're the ignorant one for implying things you don't have no idea about, and what is it to you if they want to look decent and pretty? So? What's your point? Justifying your opinion to get rid of your insecuries ain't beautiful. Love yourself and stop judging people.
stan nct I mean honestly Imani Alexander’s point is right but they said it in a way to make you get defensive which I totally get. It’s just that Koreans have been so glorified to the point where people don’t see any flaws in Korea or Koreans whatsoever. Not trying to generalize all Koreans but definitely the majority of those in Korea get or have gotten plastic surgery. And it’s not something that’s necessarily bad either, it’s just a huge difference in culture 😊
@Imani Alexander but there's also many korean people who are born as a natural beauty. Im being serious here. I agree that they are obsessed with surgery especially ulzzang girls, their face doesnt look natural at all but i can tell you one of the natural beauty in korea that i know.
It’s because of our Asian genes and the weather in Korea that are mostly cold throughout the year. Asian people tend to have more clear and youth skin than Western. Lol Idk why you guys keep arguing about plastic surgery since many Asian people skin are actually same with Jessica.
First of all, Sica SLAYED. Second of all, I see a lot of comments about her voice and how she was 'fake' before etc. While I do suspect SM forced her to put on a sweet persona (she was trained to become a kpop idol after all) - let's not forget it's been 9 years since she debuted. People change quite a lot in 9 years (and mature). Jessica is a CEO of her own company now, not to mention a grown woman. I feel like she's a lot more confident and stronger - and i love it
Don't be discouraged! You can try it, even if you have acne! Notice how she uses a Korean skincare regimen...they're known to help clear up your skin. It's good to talk to a dermatologist too.
Ronaleen Nicolas More like Fany just took all or most of the English speaking. She has always spoken in English with her family and back at home in the States.
+Kirbythecat Exactly. In SNSD, SM wanted her to have a certain image and instructed her to speak in a way that enforces that image...she no longer has to do that anymore.
I feel like her personality is also shining more. She seemed a lot more easygoing in this vid compared to others. I had no idea she had this funny (?) side to her, I love it ❤
They need makeup for the lighting sometimes. BUT I hear Korean girls wear makeup no matter what. Even going to the supermarket or dentist or visiting family. They get dolled up. Korea has quite a superficial society, especially if you live in Seoul. You hardly ever see people walking out of the house with sweats on and their hair messy.
She wouldn't be so perfect if it weren't for plastic surgery anyways. No hate, I really like Jessica. Just want to point out that no one is born perfect so don't feel bad. I look like a walrus too haha
Jessica Jung is gorgeous. I love that she is on vogue. I love it when she gets to speak English. Her personality is adorable. She persevered through some hardships and now she seems so free to do what she wants. Get it!
my face once so full of acne, white & black head. also large pore! but till my grandma recommend to me to use olive oil before goin to bed and after wakeup everyday. my skin gettin better everyday. I've use this olive oil like 1 and half year. i can assure you my skin look just like her now. try use olive oil as your makeup base, makeup remover, lip balm, moisturizer. :) natural product is always better actually
+Kami Nana You're not understanding my intention/comment. I meant this as a joke. I corrected my mistake of saying former kpop star and put instead a former SNSD member because as a former member of any kpop group, you get the advantage of looking good because you've been taken care of by makeup artists. Explaining this kinda killed the joke...and the comment in general...:/
Alineyli Benitez It kinda ignores the beauty standards of Korea, though, and how much they go through to have healthy skin..which is a big part of their beauty.
THIS BROKE MY HAAARRTTTT. I literally stopped stanning snsd bc she was my favorite member and i couldn't look at them the same way :( i love her soooo much, and i miss her soooo freaking much!!!
Jam Monster me too I feel you. Even tho Jessica is not my bias, but I can't see them same way anymore without her. She is like the missing piece of a puzzle. Really wish we can have her back in the group 😭😭😭
Same. I liked party, lion heart and you think... but something is just missing. They feel like your standard kpop songs now. I use to buy each album on iTunes and a physical copy, now I can't bring myself to buy either. I respect anyone else who can keep stanning, but each girl is necessary. Ot9 or nothing at all for me.
i watched both tiffany and jessicas. i can see the difference in personalities. like jessica is alot more subdued and calm while tiffany is more upbeat and bubbly
Her English is so much better than it used to be in her SNSD days. Going to fashion school in NY must have helped her revive her vocabulary and accent. I'm also so glad she doesn't have to commit to the whole "cutesy" act anymore, she's so sexy now that she's allowed to act her age.
other makeup artists/RUclipsrs in America should learn what is 'Less is more'. just look at how flawless she is only with such light and natural makeup!
But you do realize that a lot of Asians tend to have smoother and nicer skin than the average non-Asian American right? It's a combination of genetics and diet.
dermo care is way cheaper in korea. what you don't see are all the treatments done in a doctor's office, good diet, genes, and general culture for "natural" beauty (psst it's not actually all natural) that floats around in korea.
jessica : lets get started !

I feel like she's a lot more confident and stronger - and i love it
laracroftvideos people think that kpop stars arent forced to act a certain way to fit a certain caricature every group needs
Fake firiends of this group
this makeup look is not meant for us , unless u had a flawless skin without pimple or dark cirle etc 😂 dont worry girll its normal to had these things
Aimi Khan unless u east asian
Fluffy Fairy lol same
Don't be discouraged! You can try it, even if you have acne! Notice how she uses a Korean skincare regimen...they're known to help clear up your skin. It's good to talk to a dermatologist too.
You can always try different makeup styles, I'm sure you'd look lovely. :) Don't be afraid to step outside of the box!
Vietnamese with terrible skin you other people are just lucky
How to look like a K-Pop star: Be a K-Pop star.
She's literally gorgeous 🥰
She has a store in Soho, NYC
Really? What is it called?
Blanc & Eclare
have u seen her there personally?
Faith Balines no Google says so
I doubt it would be selling anything
I've never heard her speak this much English before lol
Ki Ji Hoon i believe she was actually American born and bred, hence why 😊
Ella Ruiz Yeah
yeah her nationality is actually american not korean lolol
Same 😂 she is really good tho!!
Phoebe Lee but she is ethnically korean
She is SO BEAUTIFUL
I want Jessica Jung in 73 Questions 😭❤
JESSICA'S ENGLISH IS ON POINT WTF SICA YOU ARE SO GORG
lol She's American, why wouldn't her English be on point? :P
+Kami Nana Well she used to be kind of uncomfortable speaking in english when she was still in snsd
Ronaleen Nicolas More like Fany just took all or most of the English speaking. She has always spoken in English with her family and back at home in the States.
+Kami Nana She stated it herself that she's more comfortable speaking in korean thus making Tiffany the main speaker when it comes to english
I'm a dude, with no interest in looking like a K-Pop star and I watched this anyway just 'cause of Jessica :s
SAMEEEE
Me too.... Watched this only for Jessica and no interest of K-Beauty
same tbh.... lol
thanks dude^^
Same here
Jessica's skin is really flawless
omg her skin is sooo clean!!
Normally she sounded cute when speaking English but over here she sounds so hot lol haha
That's because she's speaking in her real voice/accent.
Kirbythecat Yeah and I love it!
+Kirbythecat Exactly. In SNSD, SM wanted her to have a certain image and instructed her to speak in a way that enforces that image...she no longer has to do that anymore.
Kami Nana she finally can FLY like a bird with freedom
I feel like her personality is also shining more. She seemed a lot more easygoing in this vid compared to others. I had no idea she had this funny (?) side to her, I love it ❤
She don't even need makeup to be pretty, she's so pretty already,
She missed out the part where you have to have amazing skin 😭😭😭
ikkkrrrr
her english is so pure 💖💖
I don’t understand what you mean by pure, but i get what you mean
Why the hell do you need makeup? If i had skin like yours , then makeup and me would be miles apart.
They need makeup for the lighting sometimes. BUT I hear Korean girls wear makeup no matter what. Even going to the supermarket or dentist or visiting family. They get dolled up. Korea has quite a superficial society, especially if you live in Seoul. You hardly ever see people walking out of the house with sweats on and their hair messy.
nobody really *needs* makeup, it’s just for fun?
JESSICA CAN RIP OFF MY WEAVE AND EDGES AND ID THANK HER MAKE ME BALD QUEEN
LOL XD
Love Jessica! love snsd😍
Omg xD
:^) I love jessica more than i love a fresh pack of new weave tbh
LMFAO OO
Vogue,I took these steps and looked in the mirror but I look like a walrus. Did I use too much hydrating mist or am I just ugly?
That's a nice bathroom
+Chelsea Siwon and Harley Quinn You made my day HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH😂😂😂😂😂😂 DAMN HAHAHAHAHHA
She wouldn't be so perfect if it weren't for plastic surgery anyways. No hate, I really like Jessica. Just want to point out that no one is born perfect so don't feel bad. I look like a walrus too haha
daho@*=!
+Jessica Laran gqg×£$£/+¥
(@/!.
I literally don't see any difference cause her skin is literally clear as glass.
Whoa never thought that Jessica would be making a video with Vogue, but I'm so proud of her!
Jessica Jung is gorgeous. I love that she is on vogue. I love it when she gets to speak English. Her personality is adorable. She persevered through some hardships and now she seems so free to do what she wants. Get it!
SHE'S FREAKING FLAWLESS.
I mean this as a compliment...
She looks literally THE SAME😮😮😮
Jessica's glowing with her healthy skin and simple makeup. Love it!
...i need her skin care routin, not her makeup routine.
her skin care is seen in the video from the beginning til 0:45...
you need money, a lot of money honey.
step 1: be rich
step 2: hire a good ass dermatologist
Her skin care routine is in another interview with Allure.
my face once so full of acne, white & black head. also large pore! but till my grandma recommend to me to use olive oil before goin to bed and after wakeup everyday. my skin gettin better everyday. I've use this olive oil like 1 and half year. i can assure you my skin look just like her now. try use olive oil as your makeup base, makeup remover, lip balm, moisturizer. :) natural product is always better actually
She's so flawless!
She is stunning
Step 1: have flawless skin and be a former kpop star
She's still a K-POP star.
+Kami Nana be a former SNSD member
Alineyli Benitez Doesn't matter. She's still a K-pop star. She's just a solo artist now instead of a group member/idol.
Jessica is gorgeous
THIS BROKE MY HAAARRTTTT. I literally stopped stanning snsd bc she was my favorite member and i couldn't look at them the same way :( i love her soooo much, and i miss her soooo freaking much!!!
Shaz B EXACTLY what happened to me dude... at least she's happy now though! She's glowing and smiling so much nowadays 😊
omg same!! I just couldn't stan her.. and as painful as it is, now I can invest my time whole into her success
Jam Monster me too I feel you. Even tho Jessica is not my bias, but I can't see them same way anymore without her. She is like the missing piece of a puzzle. Really wish we can have her back in the group 😭😭😭
Jam Monster me too.
Jessica be making my standards for girls unobtainable ever since the day I started stanning her OTL
ANY SNSD FANS HERE?
Right here :)
here :)
Here~
hereeee
Hereee
Her skin is incredible.
I love how they actually list down the products she used
i watched both tiffany and jessicas. i can see the difference in personalities. like jessica is alot more subdued and calm while tiffany is more upbeat and bubbly
Jessica just released her third mini album with the title track "Summer Storm." Go check it out :) It's a lovely song (just like her).
Her English is so much better than it used to be in her SNSD days. Going to fashion school in NY must have helped her revive her vocabulary and accent.
I'm also so glad she doesn't have to commit to the whole "cutesy" act anymore, she's so sexy now that she's allowed to act her age.
hollywoodshopaholic it’s not about going to fashion school or what , she’s actually american. American english is her native language not korean.
nadiajafri 123 I they meant that being in Korea for so long, she spoke English less which would mean she'd forget some vocabulary among other things
lemonFlavored545 not really since she went to an American international school in korea
Though she was born and practically raised in the USA...
Im told she is Canadian actually only went to Korea to be in kpop. Tiffany is USA American :)
other makeup artists/RUclipsrs in America should learn what is 'Less is more'. just look at how flawless she is only with such light and natural makeup!
But you do realize that a lot of Asians tend to have smoother and nicer skin than the average non-Asian American right?
It's a combination of genetics and diet.
i mean you could have noticed how all models only put a small amount of makeup and retain their 'naturalness'
Dee Ca. Not really, it depends your how much effort you put in skin care and the weather where you live.
dermo care is way cheaper in korea. what you don't see are all the treatments done in a doctor's office, good diet, genes, and general culture for "natural" beauty (psst it's not actually all natural) that floats around in korea.
She has gotten plastic surgery. What's the point of caking makeup when you got what you wanted changed
Jessica jung I am reading your book
Me too
