So true. I quilted a quilt for a friend of a friend and was mad the entire time. I should have given it back to her because she didnt back the t shirt quilt right and it was stretchy. I about lost my mind. Don't regret being a blessing, you are to me!!

Lorena, I really enjoy your videos. Keeping it real and honest is not always easy to put out there. I agree with you that some quilts can only be made for love and others can be made for money.

Girl, I feel you. I’ll be 50 this year and the body? Is so not keeping up her end of the bargain. 😂 My mom and I do donation quilts together, but we are very judicious about how many and where they go. Wise words, thank you!

Great insights! Saying yes when we should have said no creates negative energy. No one wants that in their creative space!

Everything you said is so true. Stress is a motivation killer! Then…you start making mistakes. You have to realign, pic out the threads already done…wrong. Ugh…I think so many of us have been there and totally understand. Thank you Lorena for expressing how you feel and we agree. Being positive even when it is draining is the only way to get through tough jobs…

Thank you for the validation. It's so true on the rush jobs. I just came to that realization this past season. I'm learning to say no, but it's hard. I also understand taking on jobs that your heart isn't in. I don't usually realize it until I'm in it. How can you learn to spot those jobs? Any ideas? I don't quilt quilts, but I do other things and take on jobs that I wish I hadn't. By the way, I to am learning that I'm not capable of doing all the things in a day that I used to and is also a learning process for me.

Yes! It is so true. I tell everyone not to expect me to make clothes for you, or a quilt. If I make something for someone it is because it fits with their decor, their personality, or because I felt they needed something to let them know they are loved no matter what. Something for encouragement even. Because we love and want others to be happy.

I think as I have gone along I have learned what inspires me and what mess my day .. up I knew in my heart I wasn’t interested in the job but my client was so sweet. I gave in and ignore my own truth. But you know I may make a video as I meditate in what should I see. Ahead of time before I took the job. ?

@@ToniNov25 I would love to see a video on that!! It is always a learning process, but I can be slow to learn some things 😂😂. Please pray about it and do a video on what to look for. I would greatly appreciate that.

I am a home cook. And a good one if I may say it myself. I cooked for weddings, funerals functions etc. for friends and put my husband under pressure because he helped, peeling vegetables and doing dishes. Many times when people asked me to cook, I’d just say yeah we’ll work out the costs. Then I never get paid. A good friend of mine used to phone up and ask to me to cook for 20 of her colleagues. Me, yeah no worries. She never even came with a bunch of flowers. When I turned 60, I thought No More. When she came to ask me I quoted $200. She never came back. Other friends, the same thing or I’d just say sorry we’ll be away. I’ve lost a few “friends” but I haven’t missed them. It’s amazing how angry people are when they are inconvenienced when you say no. I am at peace.

Sometimes it’s hard when people see you God talent and want to use you.. but at the same time when God gives you a gift -talent- it’s also a responsibility to use it Gods way.. and sadly people we care about want what God has given you to us you .. and your kindness .. it’s okay I have truly learned to protect yourself and the Gift you have .. God have it to you to enjoy.
