"What would have happened if Android didn't exist ..." -- False Cause a.k.a "post hoc ergo propter hoc" This is like if I make an argument. "If Apple didn't open source WebKit, Safari / Chrome wouldn't have existed. the open HTML5 stack wouldn't have replaced Adobe Flash and RUclips would have been running still on Adobe Flash" -- This is wrong on so many levels. The rightful claim was Apple's investment and S Jobs's open advocacy letter accelerated adoption. If not for apple someone else might have done it. If Android didn't exist, Symbian or Tizen or PureOS or would have taken its place. The brilliance about Android is not the tech but someone at Google convincing people with money that they can use their unique business model to profit off of user data instead of charging for this. This made people pour $$$ into it and made it what it is today.
