Just to add, other than learning the 'trending' skills. It is valuable to have the foundations set as well. For me, I strive to have a mindset that I am a developer that happens to solve problems using Python, rather than I am a Python developer. Problem solving skills and learning how to learn are key skills for this field (IT, Software Engineering, ...)

That's a great advice Mark! I totally agree. After all as engineers we hired to build/create solutions. Every day is different at work. New day, new challenges!

I agree with the license and salary part. The PRC license gets you to the door as it makes you stand out from other candidates that do not have it but it is not indicative of true skill. It makes you stand out from those who do not have it but these days almost everyone has it now which is why it is not something that gets someone a high salary off the bat. Soft skills matter a lot more during the negotiation phase. Leveraging experience from OJT is a good way to get a higher starting package but I believe that the best way is through creating your own projects and showcasing it to an employer through a portfolio. There is some truth to the meme though especially in the construction industry which is why many shift to tech.

Kahit na pumasa kayu ng board exam di nyu pa rin maimplement to built ung electronics and communication system design nyu, dahil kelangan nyu pa ipa sign and seal sa PECE ayon Yan sa RA9292 the ECE law of the Philippines. Meron possiblity na ma copy nila ung electronics design mo at pede na nila gayahin un at papalitan lang ng ibang equivalent component para di Sila makasuhan ng intellectual property law. Kaya bulok ang systema ng ECE Dito sa Pilipinas. Ung iecep org puro pansariling interest lang ung concern papano mostly of the officials are PECE so they always concern their authority pero ung concern ng mga ECE di nila gaano Inaasikaso, Kasi di nman Sila makikinabang.

@@MissEngineerVlogs ngwork sa US, kelangan pa ng powers ng lawyer para irecognize na ang ECE sa school na pinag graduatan ko ay may international equivalent. So depende pa sa school.
