Someone tell me what is the difference if any between a Viking Longbow and a English Longbow ?

The English longbow/warbow had horn tips. The Viking longbows had either a spear made of iron or antler, or stiff outer tops, that were bend over backwards, and they had one side nock at either end.
The basic profile was for some bows similar to the English longbow (D shape, with a slight crown on the back), while other were almost completely round in profile.
The Viking bows were no more than 90 pounds, while the ELB of the 14 th and 15 th century were upwards of 160 pounds.

@@scandinavianarcher7015 I cant imagine pulling that kind of weight I struggled with my 60 lb and now have a 50lb recurve ahha I guess those people were two to three times stronger than modern humans .

@@trevorlee7945 well, no. But they used the bows every day. And the draw technique is vastly different from shooting a recurve. You start above the head and split the draw weight between both arms, while expanding your chest. Keep in mind, that most of these warbows were not shot for accuracy, but for range.
