The Dutch hospital is an old builing used as a hospital during the time the Dutch ruled the costal areas of Sri Lanka. This area was a fortified Fortress from where they controlled their administrative work and the harbor. Now this is converted to a leasure and fine dining place whilst preserving the old structure. The fortress is no more but many buildings which the British colonisers built after the Dutch are well preserved. The whole Fort area has a rich history dateing back many centuries.
