No one knows who she is. You're all forgetting why we are even having this conversation. Caitlin is the ONE bringing eyes to this league. No one outside of hard-core fans knows who any wnba player is but they know CC.
Fans that watch Caitlin Clark (I am one) or pay to watch Caitlin Clark number in the multi millions. Having multi millions of fans is how a person earns a shoe deal. Wilson has not earned a shoe deal. Now that Caitlin Clark is in the WNBA, if the number of Wilson fans reaches the multi millions and thus Wilson earns a shoe deal, then Wilson will have Caitlin Clark to thank. Most Caitlin Clark fans are new to women’s basketball. They love Caitlin Clark and don’t know Wilson. This is about having multi millions of the fans that watch or pay to watch you play. Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso, Cameron Brink, Paige Bueckers, Hailey Van Lith, and Juju Watkins are others that have millions of fans. These woman are on their way to earning a shoe deal. Caitlin Clark and these women are lifting everyone in the WNBA and so there is hope for Wilson. Caitlin Clark is a joy to watch. I feel great when she makes an amazing pass or an awesome layup or a logo 3. I watch her sign shirts and give items away to young girls and boys and it makes me proud of who she is as a person. I listen to her speak and I feel better for hearing her messages. The entire Iowa women’s basketball team was amazing. I watched every game. Caitlin Clark is amazing! I am proud to be a fan.
Well, I am a life long-basketball fan. And I Love Caitlin Clark. She is a generational athlete. Meaning, only come around once in awhile. Caitlin Clark is transcending because of her talent. Everybody wants a piece of greatness as in MJ, Serena an venues, Tiger wood. Greatness is compelling and Caitlin Clark right now is God sent and could be added to that list.

Infact, CarMelo Anthony won a championship in college but never won one in the 20 years he was pro. How bout Lebron who never even went to college. They are all great players and so is Caitlin Clark.

This is actually very bad for the sport of the WNBA because it should be base on individuals so you can follow them into their pro careers. You can’t take the college team your on stack with 5 star ⭐️ recruits to the WNBA. You alone as and individual goes to your never journey. You could work on team play in the pros. But even the pros are built on stars. For the WNBA to grow we need to do exactly what we did before build them stars. Juju is great. Peige is great. Heldetgo is great. Caitlin is great. Angel Reese is great. Sorry, for success it is stars that people follow not super team. Always winning is boring.

Thank you for the conversation ladies! As they noted, no one is saying that CC shouldn't have a shoe. Nike is riding the wave of who she is, what she did in college and what she represents to so many. Understandable! Folks have been advocating for and complaining about A'ja not having a shoe for years. In her relatively short, pro-bball career, she has every bball accolade there is, is dominant on both sides of the ball and given her brand deals, she clearly is marketable and has been the primary face of the W! Before Caitlin, Sabrina "leapfrogged" A'ja and got a Nike shoe. At this stage, A' ja's basketball and professional (business owner, best selling author, etc.) resume completely eclipses CC and SI accomplishments combined.. While some people can be great and be themselves, the goal post keeps moving for others . In the 27 years of the league, only 3 black women have had a signature shoe in a league that is 80% black. It's wild That said: Stewie apparently had to leave Nike and go to Puma to get a signature shoe. Seems that Nike did not know what to do with her either but it speaks to the intersectionality of these women and their perceived marketability.
It’s a numbers game. Wilson hasn’t blown up in popularity like Sabrina a Clark. They have way more social media engagement numbers. It’s like a rock band , if you blow up you get a record deal. Nike doesn’t blow people up they sign up athletes that are already blown up. A shoe line cost millions to release globally , they won’t do it unless the numbers add up. It’s a business, not politics.
This isnt a black and white thing its a green thing. Caitlyn Clark's jersey sold out during the draft, 37 out of40 games will be televised, opposing teams have to change venues to almost double the size when the play her, for the first time ever WNBA season tickets are selling out, and the list goes on. With all due respect A'ja or any other WNBA player has done any of that.

For followers of the W, there has been an outcry for years about Wilson getting a shoe deal. To those who are just beginning to pay attention and join the converstion, it may seem that now is the first time that it is being mentioned because of the light CC is bringing to the sport. But, this is certainly not a new refrain. During last yr's W finals, even Lebron tweeted at Nike asking what are they waiting for?
Hopefully, w/ all of the new eyes on the W, new watchers will clearly see the greatness and marketability of Wilson and her fortunes will change.
Ultimately, this is great for the sport and will be great for all of the talented players in the W. Shout out to everybody!!

CC has a better agent than Wilson. You had 3 companies trying to get her and Nike brought out the best deal. Sometimes is best to pay for a good agent. Aja Wilson doesn't have name and/or face recognition. I would think that's more important to Nike than her accolades as a basketball player. That's why she doesn't have signature shoe. I agree with u all regarding travelling thru airports. A lot of disorganization when it comes to boarding flights. Its like some people dont listen when it is announced Section A is now asked to board flight and people that are not in that section are boarding. I feel they do it on purpose to get ahead of the line which slows down the boarding process. I find as well workers at airport and flight attendants have no manners in speaking to people. If u hate your job that much then why did u choose that profession. SMH. The energy at some of these airports are atrocious, but Atlanta airport is at top of list in terms of being worst airport in united states. Please talk about airport experiences in future videos

I'm new to WNBA because, like so many 100s of thousands of new eyes, I'm following Caitlin Clark's career now in the bigs. Before I began my deep dive into WNBA I had heard of exactly two players -- Sue Bird and Brittney Griner. From a business marketing perspective, CC has captured the attention of millions. Anything attached to her brand today will flourish. As beautiful and athletic and brilliant and civic oriented as A'ja Wilson is, she is not widely known in athletic circles (who would by signature shoes) who aren't WNBA aficionados. Looking in from the outside it makes sense to me why CC got the deal and A'ja has not. I don't see a racial component here, just the number of eyes on CC and anything (jerseys, the Fever) affiliated with her (like a CC signature shoe).
Fever literally has had the lowest attendance in the league for years. Not widely known outside of the WNBA but Melinda Gates published her book. You Clark fans are ignorant and I wish the Big 3 deal was real so you weirdos can leave our CHAMPIONS alone.
I tell ya ladies, you have a person that people have swam around, you have a person that for that reason is helping ticket sells for anywhere she plays and hopefully it will translate into more pay for the other Women players . Whoever thinks a person deserves anything as opposed to earns it must pay the deserving person. Nike is a global company and will sell shoes globally. People who buy a product can decide what they find appealing or not. If Williams’s shoes sold more she would get a better deal than sharapova.
