Alright so i'm around 188000 in rank and played along with the players in the game. I played first then watched them play and compared scores. This way i couldn't see the map first to gain an advantage.
Obviously did i do this just for fun without stakes or anyone watching me. So i was pretty calm, which makes it a million times easier.
I played on V2 like them and gave myself one try without warm up on the map etc.
The only map i ever played before in the pool was verflucht which i had two passes on.
The first few maps i did fine on never getting below the last player in the lobby, the first map i really struggled on was the My Love remix, since i suck at reading, i was second to last in points, but would've still survived.
God the camellia and my love map were terrible for me. I just couldn't hold combo or acc.
I actually 3 missed verflucht beating my PB in acc with 83% and that's with V2 where sliders are all green for me lmao. I won that one by a long shot compared to the players.
And well, going into the 5* map i was right where i felt comfortable. Having the awkward 4* maps out of the way, and being a 6*+ playing player the high AR was finally something i felt good with. I ended up with a score of 236229 and an acc of 93%
So yeah. I would've won had i played in the tournament, given the conditions i was playing under.
But to be totally honest? My consistency isn't great and i could've easily be one of those dying in the early maps that were rather awkward to play for me, i got lucky there i guess. :)
If you want to check my profile then it's Lunex San, or 10276352 as the ID.
And lastly, Thanks for the awesome video as always Koi, you and BTMC smashed it. ♥

@@Gadottinho It's not that simple you know, each tournament houses different maps that caters to different skillsets. From maps that requires to be used such as Hidden, Doubletime, etc. To no mod maps. The higher you go with star rankings mean the lesser maps that tests these skillsets well considering it already goes to the realm of overmapping or straight up testing auto. Along with the fact that the majority of the players cannot play maps higher than around 8-10, it would already look pointless in doing so in the first place. You also have to take in the fact that these maps aren't specifically tailored for tournament matches and more of simply picked for playing as it fits the criteria they need to test each player's skillsets during the tournament. It's up to the mapping community along with choosing the perfect song for a certain difficulty to find that right balance of being a hard map and fun map and actually being playable

Im gonna challenge myself to see how far i can go by playing all the maps in order with some rules
    Rules :
    1.No mods except NF
    2.No retries
3.Sightread only (this means i only get one chance)
    4. If your score is the lowest you are out and you lose
5.maps have to be in order
Gl if you guys wanna do this too
Update : Lost at Lost desire by 20k, this challenge was fun

The nerves+score v2 probably did a lot to make the players look worse than they really are but i do find it interesting how as a 6 digit i played 5-6* maps and only recently got pushed into barely 5 digit by the pp rework.

    4 digit tourney
    3 digit tourney

The 1 digits would ego koi maybe lmao

honestly i usually never watch low rank tourneys. this was insane tho. i think this really shows how much professionalism and taking the tourney seriously is moving up things a lot for the viewers :D (not that other low rank tourney organizers don't take it seriously but you usually see a lot less 'resources' there like badges, known commentators, good streaming quality etc.)

I played stepmania for 15 years. The button timings are not the issue. Its my drawing hand that is giving me the issues lol.

As a six digit you can see just how much nerves actually affect people, I haven't played for 3 days and tried the maps and got better scores on every one. If nerves affected them that badly, OWC teams must have crazy high nerve tolerance to be able to perform so well

Ok so basically, it's not necessary for players to be top of the game for the tournaments to be fun and engaging. I was rooting for all of these players throughout watching this!! Sure I'm a 5-digit, which isn't hugely ahead but it's still incredibly fun to watch, and I bet I'd enjoy it even if it was a competition between 7 digits on earlier 3-4 star maps tbfh!
