Such a fight! We predicted that Iran will have an extremely difficult match against Syria. Although one of our best player were sent off ,two extra times were managed perfectly by team melli. That was a great game. In 1st half Iran dominated the match and created a few reall scoring chances only wasted by their players, especially Sardar Azmoun who performed really poor in this game and should have been substituted sooner. He was by far the weakest link in Iran's lineup. As for Taremi he was a great player and a determinning factor in Iran's squad but his bad habit of habitually diving in the opponent's penalty area was have to cost Iran a great deal. In the 2nd half Syria'n side, despite being underdog, got themselves together n created 1 or so scoring chances. In particular Syrian's number 11, Sabbag, made an instant impact n they were given a right penalty n scored draw but all in all they were very causious n on the deffensive throughout the game even when Iran was down to 10 men. Although Iran couldn't score more than 1 goal but they had the upper hand, very much well-organized n in good spirit n were able to control the game. I hope they still have a lot of energy in their legs neccessary for their big upcoming game against Japan.

Honestly speaking, without Taremi there is no way for Iran to beat Japan, because there will be very few chances in the game and Iran will need an intelligent and technical player to pull it off. He should be kicking himself for getting 2 cards in 10 minutes, both were absolutely avoidable, although he first yellow card was controversial, he did simply trip over when changing direction, and it seems like the referee judged based on the player's strong balance and called it a dive. Another referee could have taken a different decision. In another scenario, let's say if the through pass was more accurate (1:51:01), he would have easily scored.
