"is a medium security lock" yep, Gerda HSS are 4th class padlocks, Gerda Zircon are 6th class padlocks. Other Polish brand is KABRO C5-z its 5th class and you can buy it cheaper than Gerda HSS. Certification for 4th, 5th and 6th class are made by state-owned laboratory so its not BS invented by some PR department.
My mom bought a crappy masterlock for garage, i showed her your channel and she watched some videos of you picking masterlocks and she saw that the padlock that she bought is one of the worst masterlocks that you ever had on your channel, so i sent her this video, today Gerda HSS 632Z arrived, im do happy that your videos convinced her to buy this padlock, i also showed her some guys trying to brute force this padlock and the padlock was almost intact, it took over 30m of drilling to get to the core, my mom says that everyone who wants to buy a padlock should watch your videos to know what to avoid and which padlock is good. The moment she opened the box and took that lock (she bought HSS 632Z as i suggested, its a bit bigger than the one you are picking on this video), she just said, "Wow this padlock is big and heavy i've never seen such an enormous padlock in my life" you would love to see her face and reaction when she first saw that padlock, now she is saying that she should listen to experienced people advice more often when she is not familiar with the subject. Anyways, thank you for helping me convince my mom to buy a good and sturdy padlock, now she is happy that everything in the garage is safe which makes me happy too - i have lots of homemade audio equipment (really big speakers and expensivs amplifiers - i do host free rave parties in bunkers or forest so i really need those 12 thousand watts of pure bass) in that garage too, now im sure that our stuff is safe - we live in quite bad neighbourhood - thank you LockPickingLawyer, my mom is now subscribed to your channel and is watching your videos right now :D Really happy right now, big thumbs up!
Stumbled across your channel randomly, loving the content! I dont pick locks myself, but you are such a wonderful person and Ive watched more of your videos than I dare admit to my friends. Keep it up!
I use similar one but smaller, with only 6 discs, as bike lock, paired with long piece of tough chain. Nice to know that such cores are hard to pick. Leaves thieves with brute force option, which is sometimes too loud.
Thank You , LPL, and thank You Oleg. My "digital" lock collection expands way beyond what I could ever collect on my own. All of the you tubers deserve a hearty atta-boy for continuing to provide content in this weird you tube environment.
Mad skills shown once again on a seemingly quality build. I suspect this particular core would give most a lot of trouble. Man you make it look so easy, thanks again for another informative vid!
LPL caused me to begin picking open every lock I have in the house with bent hair pins. Now, I am bored. I've just ordered the Ultimate 7 pin practice lock and am looking forward to doing some real picking. Good on you LPL. I'd hire you as a litigator.
Amazing talent. I have one of those common disc detainer picks that you can buy from anywhere and a cheap dollar store disc detainer lock and I cannot even get that open.
I found this: www.banggood.com/DANIU-2pcs-Disc-Detainer-Locksmith-Tools-Lock-Picks-Set-Padlock-Tool-p-922475.html I'm not so sure about it but I think he used one of these in one of his videos.
The 99 Cents Only Store sells a lock that looks almost identical to that for $1.99! Not sure what it's made of but it's very heavy and only says Power Plus on the lock.
Where can I buy disc detainer locks? Everyone on youtube has several to pick but I can't find one anywhere lol. I bought a disc detainer lock pick but the only locks I can find online are the clear plastic ones. Frustrating. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
Hey could you also try some more advanced slider locks. These lock are looking pretty challenging and fun to pick. Especially the Evva 4ks cause it has an asymmetric reversible key system. LG pierrick
metamorphicorder Yes it is, just like the abloy locks that they are a direct copy of including the original abloy style core they used with the classic keyway and the profile keyway. The later abloy protec keyway core is different and has improvements over this style.
HSS -> Hard & Soft System, shackle is hard and body is soft, but when you try to cut via body you will gonna find hard elements inside that gonna give you a loot of troble(if you are not using angle grinder ofc). Would not this padlock with body made out of high speed steel be vulnerable to braking apart after few good whacks with hammer? I can imagine you can easly destroy this padlock good look with hammer but you cant open it with only few good hits. ZIRCON line of padlocks is top type of padlocks from Gerda class 6 and HSS is only class 4.
jwrm22 That’s what I thought also. The core looks like the older Abloy classic and curved profile designs apart from the abloy shaped D key or the C keys. If it’s good enough design for abloy, it’s good enough for me too, but it’s a shame they didn’t copy the protec core as well with the disc blocking feature.
Moral of the story: if you want an unpickable lock, use an electronic one. Now instead of worrying about lock-pickers, you have to worry about hackers (it's still easier to protect against them). Some are good (white-hat) and will report it to the manufacturer, but others (black-hat) won't and will either use the exploit they found or sell it on the dark web.
Wow! A vote of confidence for the Gerda from LPL. That's like winning the lottery! Woo hoo!
Well... vote of confidence for what it is, which is a medium security lock.
+LockiPickingLawyer you should definitely try and pick one of Gerda Tytan models. www.gerda.pl/en/zamki-do-drzwi/product/82/gerda-tytan-zx.html

@@lockpickinglawyer I just bought the same model of Gerda padlock. I'm pretty sure the many thieves are not equipped with tools that you're using.
@@Panzer-Geomancer thieves don't pick padlocks

Whoa, a "vote of confidence". You don't hear that too often.

I would love to see more products of Gerda from you

Castorama (in Poland) have these for 118 złoty, or about 27 Euro

Great picking brother, interesting gutting as well. Thanks for sharing it with us!
With the correct tools, practice & knowledge, it's easy. For everyone else, it's hard. You still recommend it too.😎✌
Superb bit of picking. And thanks for your detailed commentary, as always.
@LockPickingLawyer - you should try Gerda Zircon 116 :)
I would really like to learn how to pick disc detainer locks. Thanks for the awesome video.
Amazing talent. I have one of those common disc detainer picks that you can buy from anywhere and a cheap dollar store disc detainer lock and I cannot even get that open.
i finally know why you turn all the discs clockwise.
I remember opening Gerda Padlocks as a child just by throwing them on the floor. The shackle just separated from the body
Not sure why I'm watching this but enjoyed your channel....
Thanks... 👍
Poland Strong! More Gerdas!
I am curious, and forgive me if I have already asked you, have you ever came across a lock you can not pick open ? and if so, which one..
Many... far too many to list.
Nicely done & nice little lock.... Where did you get the Picking Tool?
I found this:
www.banggood.com/DANIU-2pcs-Disc-Detainer-Locksmith-Tools-Lock-Picks-Set-Padlock-Tool-p-922475.html
I'm not so sure about it but I think he used one of these in one of his videos.
Thanks.. I have that set it has limited use, the one lockpicking lawyer has is more useful..
Look for the Abus granit pick on any of the usual Chinese sites.
I'd love to see you have a go at Gerda G1000
I’d love to, but they’re pricy. Send me one? 😁
LockPickingLawyer I don't think my parents would appreciate me removing their lock :)
Fantastic ! Amazing skill.
Thank you very much for sharing your technique, it helped me a lot
Man you made that look easy... Great video
Nice pick thanks for the gutting glad you didn't do the sledgehammer open this way had a lot more finesse.
time for a destructive entry, LPL style!
Paul Edwards Ramset or slide hammer?
Or the dreaded core puller... Lol
I sure would like to see a destructive attept ;)
I'm not sure why mayhem is so popular, but I concur. :-)
Probably so that we can see how they may be idiot proof xD
try to pick gerda titan and gerda g1000
Now where's that Ramset gun?
Man I love your videos!
Ah, simpler times, before the “tool Bosnian bill and I made”
The 99 Cents Only Store sells a lock that looks almost identical to that for $1.99! Not sure what it's made of but it's very heavy and only says Power Plus on the lock.
If it says power plus, it must be good!
Shouldn't it cost ... 99 CENTS?
You'd think but they are branching out!
Where can I buy disc detainer locks? Everyone on youtube has several to pick but I can't find one anywhere lol. I bought a disc detainer lock pick but the only locks I can find online are the clear plastic ones. Frustrating. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
Can you try Gerda round lock? how can I deliver it to you?
so can u pick an abloy padlock?
nice pick awesome job man
Thanks.

Have you seen my playlist of sidebar locks?
You should try picking disc detainer locks with the “orange peeler tool” from a victorinox Swiss army mini champ knife
😂
Great pick!!! Who makes thar pick you use? Thanks
Michael B You can probably find it on banggood or dhgate
im pretty sure the "HSS" on the lock is indicating that its made from High Speed Steel
Hss is very magnetic, lock body is not magnetic
Phenomenal picking and gut 🤘
Great video! Where can that specific tool be found?
Internet going for 80-100 US dollars.
Any of the usual Chinese sites.
What an interesting pick.
This is a decent disc detainer lock
I take it the set screw is protected by the long side of the shackle when closed?
metamorphicorder

Exactly!
Did you ever try acid to crack a lock ?
Nope... Too impractical.
so is the lock made of high speed steel or
is Gerda?
Definitely no HSS... just the model name.

Great stuff
Thanks.
why not shim it?
It looks to be an Abloy PL340 clone. All except the core.

i agree. does this channel have any footage of a real abloy?
The funny thing is that it's illegal in Poland to pick locks, unless it's your profession... :(
🍎 📷 👌
👍 cool shit
GERDA : www.gerda.pl/en/
can you use Screw Spreader and Ramset
veey similar to an Abloy.
yep ... Low priced Abloy clone ! Minus the superior Abloy core !
🇵🇱 GO POLAND 🥇
Slide hammer. :)
Buy that one then.
Hi
Major weakness: core puller:(
Maybe... I suspect the core retention might be stronger than a puller screw. It would be close.
