I'm about half way through your library and loving every second. As a fellow decadent, of course I'm a fan of Aubrey and his tragically short career. I really learned something, though, from your outlining his influence over the next 60 years. Your suits are absolutely wonderful sidling up to the edge of outrageously tacky without stepping over the boundary. Almost Liberace with far better breeding! I can't help but notice that it's been a year since you posted. I hope you haven't been forced back into the tedious world of earning a living with no time for Flock.
So, having returned from my cold shower, I am uncertain if I am enthralled with Beardsley or your telling of the tale. Must watch again before I decide. Thank you very much.
I love it! Those who have not yet discovered this absolute gem on youtube, will be one day surprised (probably by some anti-algorithm accident) that such proper content and beautifully juicy language still exists. 😆
Aubrey Beardsley was probably the United Kingdom's most influential artist. Indeed his move to France in the late 1890s coincided with the birth of the Art Nouveau ... originally known as the "Beardsley Period", Sadly as he was considered a commercial artist he's been overlooked. Great show. Thank you.
Such fun ... please do continue with your educational artistic informative videos along with your personal opinions & handsome flamboyance all amounts to a wild success ! Bravo 👏 👏 👏 amused & informed viewer 👀 😀 👩🏻🎓
This was a really well put together video! big fan of Harry Clarke and new to Aubery but plan to visit an exhibition of his work at the Tate in London this weekend.
At ..13:27 .. that is the artist ..Erte'....…Museum of Modern Art .. mid 1960s also had a Beardsley show...1922 Nazimova .." Salome" was Beardsley influenced ....
TB for twenty years, never knowing when it will kill you. The Tate Brit exhibition was fantastic and being in limited opening, I almost had the place to myself
I am obsessed with this channel omg

Brilliant - a great presentation both scholarly and immensely entertaining!
A great episode! I so love Beardsley. Strangely I don't find his work erotic, just staggeringly beautiful.
You haven't seen his gigantic penises...and being inspected by some lord. 🦴👀👅

Great writing, host and set!
Wonderfully succinct and informative video.
Love this channel. Learning so much.
Marvellous, thank you 😊
Did Aubrey work in pencil first and then go over it with ink, or was it masterful inking from the start?
Brilliant artist - elegant, despite the decadence.

I remember a book from the 90’s in Georgia (the American south) entitled “Can I just do it until I need glasses?” 😉

In the words of Oscar wild, "Aubrey Beardsley is awfully weirdsley."
