I wish they'd read the manual, they could've learned all about the parental guidance egg timer. It was a feature where parents could set a timer on their kids Veggietales game that would force the game to turn off after a set amount of time. Truly brilliant.

Veggie Tales always reminds me of my friend Steve. He was kinda religious, and then as time went on, he kinda wasn't? Anyway, this one time Steve and I were at work, and this customer comes in asking about paint. Steve takes the customer back to the paint aisle and helps him get what he's after. I ring him up, and the customer goes on his way. An hour later, same customer comes in. Asks the same questions, gets the same paint can, and leaves again. One more hour later, same thing. Like he forgot he had already bought the paint.
At this point, I'm about off work, so I ask the guy if he's got a big painting job at home. He says sheepishly that he's trying to surprise his wife, and asks if I'd like to make a few extra bucks helping him finish the job. The guy seems nice enough, and I had rent due soon and the extra cash would help a lot, so I agree, and I follow him to his house. He tells me to wait outside, he wants to go in and make sure his wife won't notice what he's up to before letting me in. He heads inside and I hang outside waiting. Like fifteen minutes pass, and I start growing concerned. This guy, he's a bit older, ya know? What if he's had a heart attack and his wife isn't there?
I decide to do the Good Samaritan thing and knock. No answer, so I check the handle, and luckily enough it's open. I head inside, and the smell of paint hits me. He's definitely using the paint he's buying. I check around the living room, kitchen, bathroom, but find nothing. I suddenly hear some wheezing coming from the bedroom, and, fearing the worst, rush to the door. I open it hurriedly, and there's the guy, all decked out in paint from head to toe, naked, making love to his wife. I stifle a shocked laugh, but he hears, turns, and sees me. "Oh, shit. Sorry son, forgot you were out there." I awkwardly say no problem and let myself out. On my drive home, I come to a sudden realization that I was too young to be introduced to necrophilia.
