I have turned this style of flower before. However, I had purchased some Cold-Bend Hardwood and thought to use it to enhance my flower.
Plus I stabilized the wood with Cactus Juice to stabilize the bark to assist it to stay attached.
The wood is walnut, sassafras, bloodwood finished with shellac or mineral oil.
The bendable hardwood is still wet and too flexible at this diameter to turn on my lathe. I shaped it with a rotary rasp tool.

Another of your excellent projects. I've made similar ones without stabilizing the flower wood. That worked, but your stabilized sample should be more durable, especially with the bark. An alternative to the bendable wood at this springtime of year is the long stems of a willow tree. They bend around a mandrel just like the wet bendable wood. I usually leave them for a week of drying. Thanks for inspiration and techniques.

The thing I like most on this channel is the diversity. On a lot of channels they just do the same thing, like bowls or boxes, etc, but here you do something different every week. This week is no exception. A beautiful flower. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and continue to nag all you want. The face you save may be mine.🙂🙂

Very cool! Did the Cactus Juice work as you hoped it would?

Mixed - yes the bark was more substantial. CA may have done as well if applied before hollowing.
