Sakuya is one of the most delicate while Meiling is one of the most assertive and unlike Alice, Sakuya or Yukari, Meiling is not going to wait for your character to propose to her, she will be the one to propose, because that way of being is part of your already established personality. I know you like the idea of showing assertive and chivalrous male characters but it is not mandatory that all of them be and the idea that Meiling wants to be with someone with a tender behavior and that gives her the feeling that she has to watch their back or make decisions for him, surprising him to do it, it is not so far-fetched either because we must remember that we are talking about a woman who practices martial arts and who is at the same level as the most famous fighters in the world, a woman like that does not need a man to take care of her or treat her as if she were a porcelain vase but someone to practice with, someone who encourages her when she is in a tournament or something like that and someone to spend time with and feed her pride as a warrior, Why do you think that every time she is paired with Sakuya, the maid loses a bit of that assertiveness that she possesses when she goes after Remilia while Meiling acquires more of a leading role? For that reason, I personally think that a male character who is assertive and decision-making, like kissing her by surprise, would possibly not work on her, like it would work on Alice or Ran, while one who is tender, nice and not afraid to say his feelings without getting emotional if it would work, but that's my opinion
I agree with everything. Despite what is said in disclaimer, I usually try to make character as closer to the canon as possible, but sometimes I fail. Originally, the sunflower field scene was different: It was a group of hooligans that confronts the pair, and MC with Meiling set them down, but I suck in animating fight scenes. I should probably make Meiling's character closer to canon in the future animations, yeah. I'm really grateful for your opnion, you said like a God :)
