  • Bella has a crush on Sean Barnett: 100% the fittest boy she has ever seen. Fit hair, fit clothes, fit face. Fit fit fit fit fit. The only problem is she has never spoken a word to him. After a series of well-meaning mistakes and false starts, Bella and Sean learn the value of true friendship. ‘Under My Skin’ is a fast-paced, funny and hard-hitting award-nominated play written by playwright Ali Taylor (author of Cathy with Cardboard Citizens) and directed by Corinne Micallef (Artistic Director Joint CEO, Pegasus). Commissioned by Oxfordshire County Council’s Public Health Directorate, Under My Skin is raising awareness about the issue of self-harm among the county’s teenagers and promoting the services available to young people affected.
“At first glance, a play about adolescent mental health and self-harm might seem to be something of an 'acquired taste', likely to be aimed at a specific audience and possibly a little short on laughs. I can tell you that that could not be further from the truth. Under My Skin not only conveys an important message and opens up vital conversations but it is also hilarious, heart-warming and, above all, extremely entertaining! Everyone should have the chance to see it." Emma King-Farlow, Unbroken Festival Director, Theatre 503 (2017)
