Music & movies in the 80's were fun... never taking themselves too seriously and that is what made them great.
💯music was never better than is was in 80s cinema.
Youngblood, American Flyers, Quicksilver and The Mean Season are some 80’s gems that don’t get talked about much.
All great picks. I need to watch ALL of these again, its been too long.
A few others that just came to mind:
Feds
The Boy Who Could Fly
Flatliners
No Retreat, No Surrender
Lucas
The Boy Who Could Fly, that is a blast from the past!
💯
Love these picks. Feds is a real forgotten gem! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
This is a fun series of videos. There are a lot of 80s movies to dig up for this series to continue for a while.
Thanks for watching! I have 4 more planned after this one then may move on to the 90s for a run of forgotten movies.
A+ video!
LOVE IT! Looks like such great movies!
Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Two remakes in this volume, Brewster Millions and Death trap. Death trap original film based on a stage play, starred Michael Caine and Lawrence Olivier, and was put up for Oscars back in the early 1970s. Brewster Millions was a black and white comedy film from the 1940s (if I remember properly). I remember watching Firefox in the cinema with my mother. The film was a hit, not a blockbuster hit, but still a hit ,that there was even talk of a sequel. The visual effects of Firefox were impressive at the time as they used a new technique for the film.
I'd love to check out the original Brewster's that would be interesting! Thanks for watching much appreciated! 🤙🏻
Brewster's Millions Has been one of my favorite movies since its release. Yes, they could have done more with it...
Thanks for watching much appreciated! 🤙🏻
I would definitely say, High Spirits is a forgotten one with a good cast. Love the videos and a new subscriber
Thanks for watching and subbing I appreciate it! Def agree with High Spirits, I love anything with Guttenberg!
How about "The Heavenly Kid" from (1985) starring Richard Mulligan, Lewis Smith, Jane Kaczmarek, Jason Gedrick and Mark Metcalf aka the angry dad from the "Twisted Sister" music video "Where Not Gonna Take It Anymore" LOL! It's basically Back To The Future Meets Touched By An Angel. The movie is backed by an outstanding soundtrack. Jamie Bond sings the title song Heart Of Love. Also songs from George Duke, Joe Lynn Turner, John Fiore, Debra Laws, Mickey Curtis from Starship and Shandi Sinnamon. 👼♥🙏📻
Oh man I haven't seen Heavenly Kid is so long! I need to get that on the watchlist for sure! Thanks for watching much appreciated! 🤙🏻
Love these vids keep em coming...I really hope we see Big Shots, have you seen that one before? I grew up with that one and that VHS cover art always stuck with me
Damn I haven't seen that movie since maybe mid 90s. I can see the poster in my head with the 2 kids leaning on the front of that car!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Darius McCrary before he became Eddie Winslow on Family Matters.🤗🎥📺👍
Great video! Very oddly I watched House 2 the second story last night, and while not a great movie, what a forgotten movie it is. enjoyable to watch though and love gramps costume work
Totally agree with you on House 2. A fun little relic of its time for sure. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Dunno if these picks are forgotten, but I never hear enough talk about:
Southern Comfort - Keith Carradine, Powers Booth
A Fine Mess - Ted Danson, Howie Mandel
The Money Pit - Tom Hanks, Shelley Long
To Live And Die In L.A. - William Petersen, Willem Dafoe
Don’t forget about Dudes, Prime Risk, Making the Grade, Morgan Stuart’s Coming Home and Plain Clothes.
Awesome pick's I actually forgot all about Dudes! I need to check out Prime Risk that one isn't ringing a bell.
Switching Channels 1988, with Burt Reynolds, Kathleen Turner Christopher Reeve good comedy I kinda felt like it’s been forgotten.
I ♥ watching your videos. Thank You. I'm looking for a particular early 80s (maybe late 70s) that is a slapstick comedy like Police Academy, but it's not. It's not Naked Gun, Cannonball Run, or Airplane! either. I like to see your top slapsticks
Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻 I really do appreciate it. I love slapstick comedy so a video on that would be a great time!
Love Firefox. There was an edited version on VHS rental and in some cinema cuts too, which chopped about 12 minutes off.
I like it too, my wife wasn't into it with the pacing, but she got back into it when the final act kicked in. I love the campy effects which were awesome at the time. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
A favorite of mine from 1980 is Hero At Large starring John Ritter in which he plays a struggling actor who gets it into his head to moonlight as a fictional superhero.
@raulzavala9061 Yes and how about Skindeep also starring John Ritter and not to mention Sunset Limousine also starring Ritter. 🦸🚕🚖🎥
I love Hero at Large I actually watched it a month or so ago on Tubi!
Ritter had some hits for sure! Skindeep and Sunset Limousine are both quality flicks!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Stay Tuned is another classic albeit from 1992!📺📼📡🎥
WTH my fav era by far ever and I haven’t seen any of these?!?
Oh man, then some are certainly worth checking out! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Great video! Some more good movies are:
The Heavenly Kid (1985)
Dragnet (1987)
Johnny Dangerously (1984)
Mac and Me (1988)
Big Top Pee Wee (1988)
Throw Momma From The Train (1987)
The Legend of Billie Jean (1985)
Can't Buy Me Love (1987)
Solid movies, love the Heavenly Kid shoutout, and Mac and Me...nostalgic! I remember seeing that in the theater.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Yes I just mentioned The Heavenly Kid in my comment above. You need to mention the Soundtracks too albeit most of them are long out of print! Still I have most of them including the Heavenly Kid on CD! The LP from 85 vanished as soon as it was released due to a manufacturing flaw on two of the tracks when played a loud distortion can be heard and hence this was on all of the LP's of the Soundtrack released! Thankfully the later CD imported from Australia doesn't have this problem and all the tracks sound fantastic and are remastered! Also Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf Too are also good movies the sequel is lesser known but still good! Bad Boys no not the one with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence I'm talkiing the (1983) movie with a young Sean Penn. No one talks about that one either! Gotcha from (1985) starring Anthony Edwards when he had hair LOL! Tuff Turf from (1985) James Spader. Lovelines (1984) Tomboy (1985) Savage Streets starring Linda Blair from (1984). Night Of The Comet (1984). The Pirate Movie (1982). The Night Visiter (1989). 🕺💃🎬🎥
x Brewster's Millions is so funny, I think about this movie often...what a classic!
x I added Casual Sex? and No Holds Barred to my July Watchlist.
Hope you enjoy them!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Thanks!
You forgot the goodies, airborne and clue
One film I remember from the '80s that never gets mentioned in movie review videos is "Think Big". I mentioned this film when you were talking about "DC Cab" in one of your other volumes. It's a cheesey comedy, but it was entertaining.
I was actually trying to find that film, I wasn't able to find on any streamers and it's not available on Prime for rent yet either. But I caught the trailer and it looked like a good time!
Watched all these movie's except casual sex and I enjoyed every movie. Bmx bandits Nicole Kidman 1st movie 3 fugitives with Martin short and Nick nolte next of kin with Patrick swayze and liam neeson enemy mine with Lou gossat jr and Dennis quaid, innerspace with quaid and short 👍
Dude. PUNCTUATION. And MOVIES is plural not possessive, no apostrophe. See it above in the video's (
Strong picks, Next of Kin, BMX Bandits, and Three Fugitives are all fun one! I do have Innerspace in a volume coming soon. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Who called the grammar police on me ? I noticed you're comment is edited what's up make a mistake 😂👍
Too much casual sex probably. Try it
I've got a video series idea for you the best bit actor. I'll even give you the first 2 people PAT ROACH and CHRISTOPHER FAIRBANK both started on a UK show Auf wiedersehen pet in the 80s which I love seen it so many times. Then PAT ROACH starred in A clock work Orange, Clash of the titans, Red Sonya, willow, Conan the destroyer, Robin hood Prince of thieves Christopher has done loads of big Hollywood movies how's Batman and the Guardians of the galaxy. Timothy spall was also a co-star in Auf weidersien pet he has also starred in The last samurai, Sweeney Todd, The kings speech, all the Harry potter films 👍
Firefox is a fantastic Clint Eastwood movie and its fun to see Clint doing a fun less serious film another good lighthearted clint Eastwood movie is 1980s Bronco Billy its a fun comedy and it shows a lighter less serious Clint Eastwood in a rare comedic role and renegades is good to Keifer Sutherland was really good in the late 80s and early 90s
I need to check out Bronco Billy, I haven't seen that one. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Another good forgotten movie is Project Manhattan
Actually it's called The Manhattan Project but you are correct that movie is so good it's sort of like War Games but instead of a teenager hacking into the military in this case the teenager builds a small nuclear bomb.
Great forgotten film!
Forgotten? Easy... Abel Ferrera's Ms. 45
Thanks for the rec I actually haven't seen that and I tend to enjoy Ferrara's films. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
@@MoviesNeverSayDie it’s short and sweet. 80 minutes in and out.
And here’s another one that every film freak should see. “Tetsuo the Iron Man” from 1989. Very Eraserhead-like, with the movie taking several years to make, the crew completely leaving the director mid-production. And same deal, 80 minutes long. It’s a treat! And film historians credit that film for the beginning of Japanese Cyberpunk. But of course, it being Japanese, I dunno how that plays into your rule set for “Forgotten 80’s movies”
Keep going, man. I see that your hard work is finally paying off. People are watching!
UHF, Lock up, Taking Care of Business, Mr Destiny, My science Project
I love Taking Care of Business, such a wildly fun comedy. I think it came out in like 90 or 91 though but it's definitely getting put on the forgotten list. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
This is true, maybe it was shot in 89 😂 I was just picking ones from the top of my head
I was 11 and lied to the gal at the desk in order to get into the theater to see No Holds Barred. It probably wasn’t performing well because she knew I was full of shit, but she let me in anyway.
Haha she was like "the movie is playing we might as well have someone in their watching it."
Lou😍😍😍
Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Other comedies not so well remembered, Secret admirer with, C. Thomas Howell, two different love letters get in the wrong hands lol. Can't buy me love, Patrick Dempsey, Spring break, fun raunchy comedy, Stir crazy with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor 1980 they get framed for a bank robbery go to prison
@williamkidney6031 I have the soundtrack to Secret Admirer on audio cassette actually 2 copies! It's missing the title music at the start of the movie by Jan Hammer. ✍🎥✉📼
Great movies, it's been ages since I watched Secret Admirer. Stir Crazy is hilarious for sure!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie yeah secret admirer also has the late Fred Ward, he's so hilarious in that
Im surprised D.A.R.Y.L is on this i had that on vhs and got it on dvd it sometimes rarely aired on tv here firefox wasnt too bad of a movie yeah dont see it much on tv
Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
No child born in the last 10 years would be able to sit through an 80’s movie. Not fast paced enough. You’d find them on their phone or tablet within 15 or 20 minutes.
I would agree there which is ironic since it seems all movies now are 2-2.5hrs long. Thanks for watching much appreciated! 🤙🏻
@@MoviesNeverSayDie I know firsthand. My daughter does not like 80s movies. Although she did enjoy Dawn of the dead from 1978.😂
A good movie from 80s was The Band of the Hand
I have to check that one out it isn't ringing a bell. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
@@MoviesNeverSayDie it came out 1986 and a Native American teached 5 innercity youths how to fight and started fighting criminals or something like that. Each kid is a finger of the hand
Review RAD
Definitely on my list of films to cover. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Another great movie and Soundtrack which I have on CD remastered! Once Bitten with Jim Carrey from the same year 1985 and of course it's amazing Soundtrack too on CD!🦇🧛♂💽👍
Firefox is one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen!
