Karin is now 71yrs, its incredible to me where the time has gone.
Karin went on to become a medical Doctor with a speciality in spines, she invented a couple of spinal discs and is also world renowned for her many different types of research.
The Spinefoundation in Germany is named in her honour and she retired in 2012.
This is one remarkable woman.
She is surely one a kind.inspiration has just come to my mind.
I guess I need training to be able to do such matters,😊

Wow! Vintage gymnastics is a different breed
Much better lol
Just like most things. 😂
Literally a different sport
Because its all power snd grace directly from the athlete not worked through spring mounted equipment.
so much better and challenging
The way she so gracefully goes bar to bar is seriously impressive
Does anyone notice to judges face????!!!

@@jordanheath2011 the judge which is sitting near orange girl
Look at her face
She looks strange .
I don't even know if most people realize how hard most of her bar to bar work really is! I trained as a gymnast for years and she did things I couldn't have dreamed of. WoW!
I hurt my back reaching for the pringles on top of my fridge
Better start working out then
I get it.. Years ago I made the mistake of lifting with my back and not my knees, crushed my lower spine discs and shrunk 2 inches. So I have frequent back issues too.
@@rbarreira2 was a joke, I wish I even had pringles

Lol 😂
My hubby slipped a disk getting out of the car 🤷♀️
Later she invented the first artifical intervertebral disc and led two different clinics as a qualified doctor. This woman is amazing.
Who is she then?
@@Matty-Travelsas per the very clear text in the video.. Karin Janz, Munich Olympics 1972.
I actually went and had a look for myself, and yep, you are 100% correct, she went on to become a Doctor and her speciality was in spines, she is world renowned for her research and inventions.
She worked in Berlin until retiring in 2012.
What an amazing woman.
I'd have expected her to be a patient after those moves on the bars😅

You could barely hear the bars. She was so gentle and graceful. Incredible.

@@Vexxy197 yes but they're not made of the same material.
The upper body strength of the men and women that do this sport is actually insane. Incredible athletes.
It's not just about strength, physics plays a big role here too
physics plays literally no role@@andrew8877
Yes, but there's a very specific type of strength that gymnasts must condition their bodies for in order to get their body to be able to manipulate itself in order to take advantage of physics. Without the strength, they would not be able to control their actions enough to use physics to do different types of skills.
I love the little jingle noises as she peacefully did her routine
Wow...the dismount at the end, her body straight as a board in the air. 😮
Gymnasts today can't be straight as a board because most of them are black and they have behinds, unlike this young lady. She is ironing board flat.
Yeah, she was a human torpedo! Unbelievable
Its un real.
I've seen it several times now, and still say wow.
And rock-solid landing, too!
That judge: that mf is not real
Faide?
Did you swear tho? 🤣
I read that in the airplane ✈️ ladies voice 😅

I was looking for someone who saw that too! She looks so creepy!😅
The dismount was amazing 👏 👏👏
The judge has the most terrifying face I’ve ever seen
I saw that!! How it is her face, who knows..?! 😮
It looks like a huge mouth with just dark black eyes…
The camera's not focused correctly. Most likely you are seeing an optical illusion.
😂
😂😂
Can't believe how perfectly straight her legs were through the whole routine, and that dismount was crazy! Perfect.
Those knees never bend she had them locked
And her feet are perfect too. It's as if it's effortless for her.
A mi me encantó la "entrada" o como se diga. Ese giro antes de tocar las barras, increible! 👏
The best program ever! What a talent!!
she didn't do anything?
Gymnastics in the 70s and 80s are much prettier to watch than today's. The artistry and elegance dominate whereas today it is all about power and really, really hard landings.
And this is why they are more muscled now otherwise, with the slim body of 70s and 80s, they would end up completely destroyed.
Ditto for figure skating. Nowadays it's all about jumps.
(If I remember correctly) Mary Lou Retton changed the game. 1984 Summer Olympics.
And what goes around comes around. I hear what a lot of you are saying, power moves are rewarded, but watch the Dutch, the Belgians, even some of the Russians and more - they are getting points from turning moves. Nobody spins like the Wevers’ on the beam! And Sanne won beam in 2016 doing that!! And now you must have more artistry on the floor and beam, it’s in the code now.
Oh I totally think it's the opposite
Impeccable! 👏👌Smooth as silk and with beautiful grace. Each touch of the bar was smooth like butter. And the landing...wow. That's art!
This young lady became a very well known Dr of Medicine and Research in Germany. A fascinating woman of many talents!

I can feel my belly hurt just from this video, yet she does it so gracefully, making it seem effortless. That's just incredible.
she doesnt 'hit' the bar. with great abs that doens do a thing to your belly neither your ovaries. They were trained in skill, not in force. Any gymnast today, with the lack of smothness they have would break the hip
my balls 😭
That dismounted looked gorgeous ❤
You're saying vintage and I was there watching. What I see in 50 years ago is yesterday ❤
80% of this routine are now illegal moves, which changed the sport drastically. that’s why it’s vintage
I love vintage gymnastics and also how people kept quiet during the execution of the exercises. Sacred moments.
