getting all my equipment for these tomorrow, I want to make cloisonné wings using the aluminum as the cloisonné wire and filling it with UV resin though.
Hi I am so happy to hear that you are inspired to make these. I am not sure if you have seen my other tutorials but I have also made an Ant, a Bee, a Ladybug, a Caterpillar and a Grasshopper in the same style. If you are interested you should be able to find all the tutorials on my channel. 🙂
Hi Denise - Sorry about the missing templates. You are the first one to let me know that I forgot to include them in the description. Here is the link to the blog post. Please note that the templates are all the way at the bottom of the post. Also I haven't had a chance to fix the bead video yet but the they actually use the same templates as the dragonfly beads. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have anymore problems with the templates. upcycledesignlab.com/dragonfly-christmas-decorations-upcycled-beer-and-soda-cans/
I finished my first one. I didn't find it easy. It will take some practice to get a nice looking one. Fortunately I have a bunch of jewlery making supplies and tools to use. I found it hard to get the 4 wires into the beads I rolled on this green roller. I can get 2 in no problem. But if you snug the can strips up tight on the bead roller, there is effectively only 2 holes to thread your wires through. Before you go through cutting up your wires, do look at the 2 prongs on your bead roller and compare your wire size to them. (I now see I must have used a thicker gauge wire than the instructions called for.) If its the same gauge as the 2 prongs on the roller, you are probably not going to get 4 wires through the bead as the instructions point out, maybe only 2 wires. Either increase the guage of the wire (a thinnner wire), or don't snug the bead up to make the hole so small.
Hi Jan - I have used the 20 guage wire and it is a snug fit for four wires. I have also used 22 guage for these as well. If you are having difficulty getting four wires through the beads you could try the 22 guage which is a little thinner. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Hi Felicity - I have made a butterfly but have not done the tutorial yet. I do have tutorials for a bumblebee - ruclips.net/video/KizruApxBxE/видео.html a ladybug - ruclips.net/video/EBaw0iMMPqQ/видео.html and an ant - ruclips.net/video/ZvaU3l_N4Ks/видео.html if you want to check them out. Thanks for watching.
Hi Cindy! Sorry if I spelled your name wrong. I was just wondering about the template for the dragonfly. How can I download or print? I love the new version as well as the old. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi Maricela - Your spelling is correct. The templates are on my blog. Here is the link to the blog post. upcycledesignlab.com/dragonfly-christmas-decorations-upcycled-beer-and-soda-cans/ You will have to scroll do to the very bottom of the post to find the templates. Also if this link doesn't work there is a link in the description of this video as well. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Hi thanks for watching. The beads I use are about 3/4 of an inch. The hole in them is fairly large it just needs to be big enough for four pieces of wire. Hope that helps. 🙂
Hello ! Did you try to emboss the wings with you cricut (with the pointy tool usually used to mark folds on paper) ? And thank you so much for your videos !
These are so beautiful! I can’t wait to get going on these! I don’t have a cricket so it’s all by hand for me. Maybe my pizza cutter and metal ruler would workHow much do you sell them for? It takes quite a while to make them
Thanks for watching I am happy that you enjoyed the project. I sold mine for 25.00. If you are interested in the video below I cover all my sales info from my last craft show. ruclips.net/video/-j0aBPsAjeI/видео.htmlsi=fk1qGy0myegoGzkq
Hi sorry to hear you are having problems. I have not had this problem. My suggestion is to use a longer piece of tape on the tip or maybe switch to a different tape brand. Hope that helps.
Sorry, I don't think there is a straightforward answer to your question. The best answer I can give you is to check out local microbrewers, as they sometimes opt for plastic shrink wrap on small batches of their beer. Hope that hepls.
@@cherylburkitt9722 Thank you. They are very tiny. I’ve never noticed them before. They’re usually on the end of my fishing rods so not close enough to see those tiny antennas. 😹😹😹 🤷♀️I learned something. But they’re so tiny not like the ones she made. They’re still cute though. 💝🥰🤗

Did you put a round toothpick
in them when you colored them? It seems like that would help widen them a bit for all of the wires to fit later.
@@fanciflower Yes I did use a toothpick for the Mod Podge drying process.
That is beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Can you make an scorpion in similar way, or a butterfly?

Thank you for such a wonderful tutorial.

Are the cut edges of the aluminum sharp? Are you running something along the edges to dull them a bit so you or customers don’t get cut? THANKS
Hi Linda - the edges aren't really sharp. You can get a paper cut from them but I don't think they are dangerous. Thanks for watching.
Love the alcohol ink hack.
Thanks. I think the alcohol inks are so vivid and pretty on the beads and it makes them more versatile and interesting.

My beads keep popping open even after using the tape and sealing them with Mod Podge, have you experienced this?

Maybe your cans are made of thicker metal?
Does anybody know who sells what products in those cans with the wraps on them😮

Salt and peroxide take off ink maybe
I haven't tried that. Thanks for watching.
I love these but I don’t believe I’ve ever seen antennas on a dragonfly before. 🤷♀️😹💝🥰

I love this, but the music drove me nuts, so I turned it off. Very short
Hi sorry I'm a little confused are you talking about the intro music?
