Okay, for anyone who has troubles getting notifications, I think I found the issue. Go to your Firebase Database and check whether all your users have a device_token. If not, either delete the user or log off once and then log in again with that user, to create a new device token. Then, once all the users have a device_token, you need to launch 2 device emulators, one running the app in the background (that is the one who will receive the notification) and one sending the request inside the app. The notification can only be received if the app is running in the background! I hope this helps!

I am getting two error:- 1. Device Token is generated when I login using email id but not when using mobile no. Therefore no notification is triggered when login using mobile number. 2. Two notifications are generated for a single action. Thanks for such a wonderful tutorial.
If you think you are too sure of the javascript codes that he made us to implement and yet the notification is not successful, kindly copy the one he pasted in the link...and you will be good to go. I have successfully implemented mine through this process.

You cannot proceed without that billing plan. Follow the URL from the command prompt and change your plan from spark to pay-as-you-go. Hi, I don't think 2nd point is mandatory.
It works for me when I use one virtual device and one mobile phone.
Okay, for anyone who has troubles getting notifications, I think I found the issue.

this is happen because your device_token root not exist. make sure you re login your app to update device_token root.
