Floyd is hypnotic.....lots to chose from ....you can’t go wrong with Comfortably Numb( I would do the album version 1st then the Pulse version.....but that just me).....maybe Time, Hey You, Dogs.....and on and on and on. Keep it going.
👍😎 Good day to you .. when you can , react to Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb , live Pulse 1994 .. = best show , best stage and best live guitar solo by Davis Gilmour 🎸✨👌
This song, as well as "Have a Cigar" that follows it is about the music Industry. This one's lyrics is as taking the Music Industry as a physical identity that is speaking to the aspiring musician and telling him that he knows what he wants, his dreams (to be rich and famous) as well as what he is like (a rebel, bought a guitar and searched for others to form a band). The Music Industry is indeed a Machine that makes and breaks people. "Have a Cigar", on the other hand is told from the Label CEO's point of view that saw the band performing, got a greedy interest on them and signed them up, without even caring for their names (oh, and by the way, which one's Pink)
Omg, welcome to Pink Floyd!! Every song is more beautiful and epic than the next. If I may recommend: Echoes, Shine on You Crazy Diamond (all parts), and the entire Animals album. This is my favorite band ever and I literally can't go a day without listening to some Pink Floyd. ✌💞🖖
dont know if anyone has told you, floyd writes albums, not songs/ ie one song flows into the next. do urself a favour and call up the lyrics behind the song on ur phone while playing to see if you can follow the storyline
The album on the surface is about the loss of Syd Barrett, the heart and soul of Pink Floyd, which "Shine on you crazy Diamond" and "Wish You Were Here". "Have a Cigar" and "Welcome to the Machine" is about the band losing their soul and originality due to the success of "Dark Side of the Moon". Roger Waters basically said the band broke up in spirit after Dark Side. The video expands the idea of conformity, where the machine (industry and or government) destroys our individuality. For me the difference between a big government (socialism) and big company (monopoly) are small. They are one and the same. China / Amazon _ what's the difference? Going through a company takeover, this song resonates big time for me.
Please continue with Pink Floyd! Your subscription base is about to spike! As the others have said, this band writes albums, no necessarily individual songs. While there is nothing wrong with individual song choices, which I do recommend still, be aware that the lyrics typically have depth beyond measure. nothing wrong with a quick wiki on your song choices prior to the listening. Keep up the good work. Subbed to follow the floyd journey and see if you go into prog rock.
As with most of Floyd's music, there is both a specific and a general meaning. The specific meaning is about the music industry. The general meaning addresses the everyman and is about life, work, capitalism, conformity etc. ie THE Machine. :)
One of the great things about Pink Floyd (Roger Waters mainly) lyrics is that they are prone to a variety of interpretations. Every listener can have his own point of view & ideas about the meaning. Personnaly, I prefer not to dig too much into the lyrics but keep my personal view of the meaning of the lyrics. I don't like having the official viewpoint of the band members either. It somehow ruins my idea of the song as a whole.
React to Pink Floyd A new machine pt1, Terminal Frost, A new machine pt2 lyrics. 👊😎 if the depth of layers intrigues you then you will love the album Animals, Pigs,Sheep, Dogs is a masterpiece. Do some research on the meaning of Animals and bassists/writer Roge Waters.
This whole album is about how the music industry crushes artists and only cares about money.
How it chewed up and spat out Syd too. He played a mean guitar and drive a jaguar.

This song is the masterpiece of the late Richard Wright, keyboards & vocals. He passed away in 2007 or 2008 I believe.

The art in the video reminds me of the animated film Heavy Metal from the 80's.
YES!
Great Reaction, you totally get it. They are like religion.
I used to get stoned to this song in the 80’s…. So deep … took me out of the universe and back

While open to interpretation, this song is a tribute to Pink Floyd's original vocalist and guitarist, Syd Barrett, had a mental breakdown.

Pink Floyd is very good at creating a mood/setting a stage. Which is why their music has been used for a lot of movies.
Not really , most of it was done without their knowledge.
Your clock are wrong!
It's not wrong, you see it like this because of the camera (mirrored)
drugs 'help' with Pink Floyd
They destroyed Syd Barrett...
Pink Floyd is a drug
@@Llydrwydd he messed himself up!
