    Thank you, this is really helpful. I live in the southern part of Indonesia, and my hometown just so happen to have both an active volcano and tsunami-prone seashore, so a huge earthquakes, volcano eruptions, hurricanes, etc. are basically annual events for me. My house is always stocked up with medications, solar powered flashlights and powerbanks, extra mineral water, extra food, and have been trying to be more self-sufficient with a vegetable garden and a well built inside. Since my house is very solid and had withstood numerous earthquakes in the past, I didn't see the need to build my own disaster kit, but then there was a research going on saying that the tectonic plates movement in the southern part of Indonesia is quite concerning lately and there most probably will be several huge tsunami hitting the area in near future, so I started preparing. I decided to add a tent, a paraffin stove, military rations, first aid kit, solar-powered flashlights and powerbanks, tools, water, face masks, a sleeping bag, a whistle, and other basic necessities in two backpacks. From my experience, it'd be extremely hard to get on the road with vehicles when there's a natural disaster going / about to go on, so having a few ready to wear backpacks would really help. I hope I'd never get the chance to wear them though.

      Great Video! Excuse me for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you considered - Lammywalness Winning Terrorism Guide (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is an awesome exclusive product for learning how to prepare for disaster using this simple food minus the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my old buddy Taylor at very last got astronomical success with it.

    3 things I'd add are (these are investment items) to go along with the first aid is an AED (automated external defibrillator) CPR mask (although not required still handy) and a jump bag (bigger, more advanced first aid kit) It's recommended that you get training for CPR and AED use. CPR: not trained: hands only 100 compressions to the beat of stayin alive. Trained: from what ive heard 30 or 100 compressions and 2 breaths. Now AEDs tell you how to use them so no need for an explanation.

    • @David-fv7zg
      @David-fv7zg 5 лет назад

      AED is a waste of resources generally speaking for John Q. Public. When out of the house, these things are everywhere from your church to the library to the mall to WalMArt. They are expensive, battery dependant, etc. An AED is the last thing I would recommend someone add to their kit, unless there is a significant need for a chronically cardiac compromised family member where the need is a higher liklihood. The money is better spent elsewhere.

    For the cell phone, you don't need a phone that has service attached to it. Even your old phone that is not part of your current plan is still able to dial 911. When I did dispatch training in the fire department we always got false calls from people who give their kids their old cell phones and kids love to dial 911 since it's drilled into their heads in school

    You're videos are always awesome! I like the kit. I think for a basic emergency kit I would not change anything. I think on top of having an emergency kit you should always try to go to some sort of training. It could be CPR to a canning class to a firearms class. As a police officer I was able to go to a "Law Enforcement as First Responders" class which was just a condensed combat medic class which would help out greatly in an emergency situation. There are all kinds of training out there that could help in a preparedness plan.

    Um....? For bug out purposes, that huge Maglite and it's spare batteries are very impractical. "It can be used as a weapon" is arguably not sufficient justification for it's size & weight for most people. Compact flashlights with modest-sized batteries are the practical choice, and you can bring more than one because they're so small.
    I like the rest of the video.

    I always carry a handkerchief but its not exactly an essential for bugging out. Handy though and can be used to dress a wound or put pressure on a gash, just as long as the handkerchief is not yet used.

    You need some sort of knife doesn't have to be really big but can't be too small either need to be able to cut stick some small pieces of wood for fire or other pieces of wood for Persei a spear for fishing or something along those lines something at least 6 inches long up to perhaps a machete

    • @BudgetBugout
      @BudgetBugout  7 лет назад +3

      @pyrobear4206 7 лет назад +1

      BudgetBugout you never know look at all the rioting and looting that went on during these past hurricanes people were getting jacked for Stuff they need the spear or the larger knife for defense plus that little knife in the multi tool won't be useful for much so think you need the larger knife

    • @karvast5726
      @karvast5726 7 лет назад

      For this kind of disaster i doubt you will use a knife for that purpode but for cutting bandages for example it's a creat tool

    • @sec1720
      @sec1720 6 лет назад

      Don't bring a knife (or spear) to a gun fight. A gun should be in everyone's emergency kit. If something causes a 3+ day power outage in your area, things will get dicey. When food runs out, looting and worse will happen. Most of the country has older infrastructure. It's not far fetched to imagine a scenario where power is out for a long period of time. And if you're prepared, it won't do you much good if people who are unprepared decide to take what you have. EVERY emergency kit needs a gun.
