Where did you get the filaments? It seems there are different ones on the market.

Hello and thanks for your videos. I'm about to solder the new filaments . But I don't understand how they 'stick'. Is there 'glue' or solder on the filaments already? We put solder on top of the contacts on the support but not underneath them?

Hi, when you unsolder them, they were connected by solder which I just heated to break them loose, so they are soldered from beneath. Thats why I added little bit solder from up after removing them just to make a thin film that flowed down to replace and or replinish the old one which looses part of it on edges of removed filaments. On soldering, i just warm up the upper part, so the heated lower part will flow over new filament edges and solder to them, thats why I put the cardboard to push them against the lower part, hence will solder once the edges are heated from above

Ok so today I replaced the filaments. The voltages I get are 500 and 11. The car is working better but error p170 comes back again. Clues? I don’t have vacuum leaks. I also had the mechanic reset adaptation.

Please let me know if you have any idea. I have a working mafs with good measurements. The car runs fine but adaptation on lambda is 0,72 ! It eventually fires error p0170. There are no vacuum leaks and I didnt have this error on old ecu with dead mafs that had 10k trimpot soldered to pin 2-3 and set to a value of 2370 ohm. I got error p0100 on that but not p0170.

Hi there, am sorry to hear that, actually, why do you still have the code since you replaced the filaments, I have no idea! but why did you solder the pins? did not you read the video description on fixing the maf? Since you replaced the filaments?

It is by chance, some guys had it fixed by soldering, but i have no actual feedback that it can be permanent solution. Please read the description, other wise, i gave all my experience and notes on them. Cannot say things or speculate other stuff that i did not have practical experience with. All the best for you, and hope you will figure it out, ill appreciate your feedback if you got it fixed.

No I had another ecu with dead mafs, trimpot and code p0100. I copied the firmware to a new ecu with working mafs and not trimpot. On this one I have code p0170. In this new one I also put brand new glass resistors.

@@Austigm replacing the Lambda made p0170 go away and adaptation better but now I have p0100 again and I am positive the mafs has all correct resistance. The sensors are new . I don’t know what is going on here.
