You can be in disabling pain but have no restrictions and limitations. I don't see how this is even allowed. The opposite is also true. You can have restrictions and limitations but have no pain and can do some type of work.
My wife has had a first time medical exam also an x-ray on her compound fractured wrist listed in the initial claim. They are requesting an scheduled her to an upcoming psychological Dr. To evaluate her anxiety an depression. Where can I find the video on how to go thru the physiological exam. Thank you.
My husband was offered a limited time offer through his employer for disability insurance via UNUM. The offer says no blood work or health exam required. If one has a known pre existing condition that could lead to one day having permanent disability, would the claim be denied one day or not? Since no health exam was needed up front, they can't deny, can they?
Holly Smith, without seeing the documentation or fine print, there is no way for us to know whether there would be any way for them to deny his claim as a preexisting condition. HOWEVER, most group disability insurance policies offered through employers do have "pre-existing condition" clauses. BUT these clauses typically lose their teeth once the insured individual is a covered person under the policy for longer than a year. So, if it is a typical group disability insurance policy, so long as your husband is a covered person under the policy, under most policies, they will not be able to deny his claim for benefits as a pre-existing condition if he was fully insured under the policy for longer than a year. THUS, in all likelihood, he should want to purchase this policy at once. We are more than happy to discuss this further with you at any time. Please feel free to reach out to us.
Excellent interpretation and analysis of not just the obstacles, but if the tactics used by insurance companies. Thanks for posting.
