I've learned a lot about drawing from you, Mr. Priestley, ever since I discovered your channel several years ago. My drawings are very much like your paintings in that I draw in a more representational manner, not in a specific 3D way (my minister would just love it if I'd draw "correctly," but I like drawing the way I do!). Your paintings are delightful, and I see a couple I'd love to buy and hang in my living room. Your use of color is wonderful, and I'm just super happy to see your style coming through so clearly and abundantly!
Thank you for your very kind comments. As regards drawing you have to do it your way otherwise you will never become an artist. Van Gogh didn't draw photographically, no one would be interested if he had . Cheers
@@PaulPriestleyart Yep,when you were going under the name of Filbert Splosh! You suggested I might hang onto my expressiveness and I have done just that. But I also like your hyperealism. Brilliant.
Congratulations! Much success at your exhibition! I am curious about the “ black dot” painting! You have many many more white dots. The one black dot under a golf club seems very lonely. What is the meaning behind this? I like your art works and art philosophy. Observation skill is very important. But most of all, I like you as a person. Cheers! Julie
It is basically because no one would notice the black spot without me pointing it out in the title. Once seen it takes on a significance much more important that it actually deserves therefore gets the viewer to engage and speculate. Cheers
Hi my name is s.harish and I am 11 years old and I have to buy some drawing pencil but l can't buy so can you please buy some . I am interested in drawing but I cannot find these materials so that is why I am asking you. I promise that I will subscribe to your channel.
I'm sorry s.harish I won't be able to buy you pencils. Maybe you could improvise and be very creative. Drawing is about making marks on paper, you don't necessarily need pencils for that. I have drawn with a stick dipped in very strong tea on paper and it works well. You can also draw with the burnt sticks from a fire, it's just like charcoal. You look like a very creative artist to me so I think you should go for it. You can do it.
I am in love with Paul, and his work, so sweet, and easy to follow
Many thanks for your mind words. Cheers
It feels like it's been forever since I saw you upload. Beautiful drawings!

Great stuff, Paul. The colours and shapes are very appealing to my eye. Hope the exhibition goes great.
Many thanks . Cheers
