    "They used flushable wipes on their chakras" is another overlooked banger by Jordan😂😂😂

  • @elliemorrow5306
    @elliemorrow5306 2 месяца назад +816

    Jeweller here. There were some big red flags from the jump.
    First of all, tanzanites aren't nearly as valuable as she was claiming. With gemstones there can be a rare chance that you'll come across a specimen that's a unique colour or clarity, making it more valuable than it usually would, but not by this much.
    Plus, jewellers insure their packages. It's just a given, especially for a larger company like this because there's always more to lose when a piece goes missing that it's never worth it to take the risk. In fact, there's an array of high value courier services that we use, ranging from some pretty standard insured package setups to shipping pieces with bodyguards and transporting in armoured vehicles. That way, should a package get stolen, the business can always afford to replace the item. The problem here is what they were asking for is in another tax bracket to what it was actually worth.
    Those are just a couple of the big points but I could go on honestly. To someone who knows anything about the industry it just becomes plainly obvious that she doesn't have receipts/isn't telling the full truth.
    Also, to Jordan's point about them shipping the stone somewhere to have it cut, most jewellers outsource their gem cutting. Jewellers and lapidarists/gem cutters are very different professions. They may seem similar but that's not the case at all and there simply isn't enough overlap for a jewellery business to have a cutter in house and vice versa.

    A ten THOUSAND dollar tazanite crystal? Tanzanite is "only" $100-800 per carat. I genuinely cannot tell if she's straight up lying for the sake of the video, if her signifcant other lied to her about how much money he spent on her (even though they're, like, totally not materialistic or anything because they're hippies broooo), or if they just straight up got scammed
    Edit as I didn't watch fully before commenting (I know I know):
    Okay, that question was answered, but interestingly, that was definitely raw tanzanite. The Tanzanian government banned the export of raw tanzanite in an attempt to support their local jewlers

    • @zorro......
      @zorro...... 2 месяца назад +42

      I went to google and I found that for the 800/carat ones, there are those that go up to 10/11 carats, which brings the price to around 10k
      The ones ive seen at this price range aren't raw and are usually cut already
      But of course, none of that is relevant to this story because 10k was the price of the shaman experience, not the gem😊

The price of the “crystal” was sus. And then the kicker was the image of the ring. That family heirloom? Did not look very heirloom plus it had an emerald in it. An interpreter works with live texts (speeches, presentations, actual people trying to communicate with each other), and a translator works with static texts (books, movies, poems). This kind of thing can cause job loss, business closures, divorces, drug abuse/drinking (even though alcohol is an actual drug. But they don’t tell us that!) or even lives. From the 'oh im just a widdle musician and my hubby is just a tennis player' when they obviously have mad family money to have even gotten in this position, to the hippy woo woo chakra healing past lives that I can't even pretend to take seriously. That shaman did not have to try very hard to scam these two.
    They clearly have the money and connections to just take this to court why are they asking strangers on TikTok with far less resources than you to solve your problem for you. If you have 10K for chakra healing and a rock, you can hire a decent lawyer.
    The only reason not to go to court is if their story is leaving out some key details as to why the court might NOT rule in their favour, HMMMM.
    "TikTok do your thing." She knew what she was doing and made no effort to tell people not to leave fake reviews. She's playing a nice girl hippie act but there's a vindictiveness to this that screams spoiled mean girl. She wasn't asking for advice on how to resolve the manner properly, she wanted to force this business to give them more than the rock and ring were actually worth or ruin the business if they wouldn't.

    (Yes I said Hawaii was a country, that's on purpose, I don't want to validate America's occupation of Hawaii, Hawaii is much more than just an American state and Americans should start treating it like it's another country with it's own completely separate history and culture because it is in every way except in the eyes of the yanks, I don't want to call Hawaii a state because it feels disrespectful.)

We got a matching set (identical rings but with different stones and mine has an extra center stone) from Zales. Mine is white sapphire and was $80 with 9 gems in total. His was $200 and is diamond with 8 gems in total. We have lifetime warranties for repairs, resizing, and cleaning. The only thing is if we lose it, we’ll have to buy a new one, but those replacement warranties are only for certain rings that are usually incredibly expensive.
