@@thepillowfortgaming I can see how it would be irritating for both sides. especially as a content creator, people watching the videos depend on you/us to be trust worthy. having games that arent coming or delayed last minute breaks trust with the viewer.
That is ultimately what it comes down to for us. We want our community to feel trust and faith in us to only deliver what's actually coming / worth spending time thinking about that month. There are so many games in "production" stage and while we want to share them, we prefer to wait until our community can play within a few weeks / that year, rather than getting them hyped up for something that's 3 years off (lol). For devs, we get it, delays happen, but devs should have the due diligence to communicate that a few months in advance, rather than waiting till the very last minute. Consumers aren't going to get upset with a pushback if it's done early and they're nearly unaware it happened, but pushing back release dates last minute just stirs concern for consumers xD@@dynogamergurl

Hoping to see Yokai Inn this year. I'm most looking forward to Europa, Tales of Seikyu, and Lightyear Frontier... that is, if I can put down Palia long enough to play anything else.
We'll be hosting a Palia stream at the end of the month as we haven't played in over 2 months so it's time to give it some love! Yokai Inn is definitely one we're looking forward to! We'll likely be featuring it in another list which will be 'Games we hope are coming out in 2024' 😂 but we wanted to showcase things we were pretty much positive we'll get to play this year in this one ❤️
im working right now on an open world 3D game with cute art style the whole plot is a kid (male/female) want to create delicious recipes so he/she has to explore different bioms, plants, animals, spices, cooking methods, machines, dungeons... so they have to be adventurers and chefs, so they need to develop fighting and magic skills also cooking, crafting, alchemy and potion skills and also at the same time upgrading their equipment for cooking and fighting. It's an entire genre that's developed over the last 10-15 years thanks to games like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing ❤️ but, they're getting more in depth. Simulation games in particular dominant the casual market (House Flipper, Powerwash Simulator, Cooking Simulator, etc)

We didn't feature it due to the fact that it got taken down from steam and they got into some drama with their publisher. We can say it was a phenomenal game though, and we definitely agree with your analysis. We just leave it with a 'buyers beware' warning since it has been physically removed from Steam before ❤️ we care about our community too much to recommend something that could end up wasting money, no matter how good it is.
@@thepillowfortgaming Thanks for sharing! I had no idea about that dispute. I read up on it just now and they officially announced on Twitter many months back that "Crytivo and Soda Den have made the decision to amicably part ways". This was when the game became available again on Steam back in May, 2023. Not sure if they found a new publisher or if they even needed one at that point (probably not?). If the license lies solely with the developers now, I don't think it would ever be removed again. It's selling for around $25 which is such a steal at this point. I get the sour taste that it leaves when you pay for a game and it disappears for a while though.
@@Caffeinated_Warrior yeah they settled it a week after it got taken down, so it got put back up. Our distaste for the company is that they lied during the process and attempted to blame their publisher for the issues, then Crytivo put out a notice stating that the Sodaden team had broken the contract and attempted to remove their access to the game on Steam without telling them. So many awesome games I’m looking forward to as well. I’m so glad Cozy/wholesome games became a thing! Ty for the awesome list. And yay for sims like games. Took a long time before they come out.
Great games, I think everybody can find some of their fav titles here. ❤ We're also leaving a small hint, that another cozy game is on the way - our Hotel Galactic is coming to Kickstarter very soon 👀
Hopefully we'll be able to get into the next Beta test (if they host another one before launch) and provide some updates! We adored the first Beta though, twas a real blast 🥰 Bandle Tale is one we're exceptionally impatient for for sure!!
This is a fantastic list of games! I agree with Cat Quest 3. Loved the previous ones even though I actually never got around to finishing them and I'm really looking forward to the third one even though I'm in my 30's. Very well narrated and presented too.
I'm so looking forward to Life by you! And tavern keeper seems so much fun as well. One of the cozy games that are not on the list and I'm looking forward too is Echoes of the plum grove😍
Echoes of the plum Grove is definitely up there for us too 🥰 we were lucky enough to get into the Tavern Keeper playtests but it's under NDA so we can't share anything related to it unfortunately... Regardless... Excited for it's full release!
I am excited for Tales of Seikyu.....but after looking up if we'll be able to play as a girl in the game, idk if i am as excited about it anymore. I found a thread where someone asked the developers if we'll be able to play as a girl and they said perhaps they would add it into the game, if they got enough money for it on their kickstarter. They are locking the ability to play as another gender behind whether or not they are given enough money. Kinda sleezy if you ask me
Yeah... The world of Kickstarter and only adding stuff if certain goals are met can be a deep dark hole. We understand that some teams don't have money to add everything, but something as simple as gender seems a bit of the questionable side to gate behind a goal for sure :/
Tbf, the dating options aren't all female, there's multiple males on the list for dateable characters on Kickstarter ❤ but the character customization is locked behind 400k goal so 😅 not sure if it'll reach that@@staryuuuuuuu
@@liladventures_dnd yes, I just checked their kickstarter and they updated the goals!! also a female protag was included and they reached the goal already (no customization though but at least we get to play as a girl too). they didn't have the male love insterests before so its a huge plus
if you liked Koa and are excited for Mika and the Witch's Mountain, you should play their other game Summer in Mara if you haven't already!! I love Chibig and have all of their games!!
Amazing video, thank you for putting all of these on my radar for the year! I was wondering what the game at 0:15 was? I might've missed it in the video!
Yeah, a lot of them are from smaller teams with lack of access to things like Switch ports, but! If the PC versions do well enough, they always have the chance to come out on it at a later date ❤️
Should be! They've been rocking the 2024 date for a while and haven't stated otherwise, so while we don't have any exact dates, if we go based off of social media presence and what we've seen recently, it does seem that development is reaching it's end 👀👀❤️❤️
Sorry for the delayed response! Here's a few great titles that fall under the "Fix up the planet" vibe! Lightyear Frontier (No Combat / Health Mechanics) Distant Bloom (No Combat / Health Mechanics) One Lonely Outpost (No Combat / Some Health Mechanics ) Wildmender (Fully adjustable playthrough experience ranging from impossibly hard to survive to cozy gardening simulator / fix up the world) Terra Nil (More Simulation / Management style) Let us know what your preferred genres are and we'll dig a bit deeper to find you a few more ^.^
@thepillowfortgaming Agreed. If it's solid, Paradox will support it for a while. The only game they actually dropped support for was Imperator Rome because it had an awful launch and, despite the devs actually turning it around. I think Life by You will get pretty good eventually.
Just from the features we already see, we'd have to agree with your analysis of the game and studio. They seem like they have a solid enough history to trust @@kawaiku
Considering Koa & the Five Pirates didn't, it's not likely this one will have much more then cute sounds and noises when people talk, but definitely some comedy value to be had if they do end up adding some @@invisiblechicken 😂
Critter Cove and The Ranchers! 🥰❤️ Critter Cove will be releasing this September, and the ranchers still has a possible Q4 release date but no news yet

Yep! Casual often gets meshed with Cozy, since Casual at least doesn't induce any adrenaline rushes or stress (usually) so some people find casual games to be cozy as well. It just depends on what genres you personally like... We know some who find a few horror games casual / cozy 🤣
Soulles? The lest time I checked Sims 4 what most disgusting soulless empty game ever exist with 100 packs that are broken and does not even add anything or work! And the game was super expensive when they charged money on it! So LBY actually look amazing compared to the real soulless game that exist now
@@mayaha200 We know a fair few who've sunk thousands of hours into Sims 4 (and previous expansions), ourselves included. It may feel soulless at times, but it does offer experiences that other games just don't offer and that's what contributes to it being the titan in the industry. It's hard to design games in this style, and takes immense work to get them functioning properly and consistently, so we have to at least respect what The Sims franchise has achieved. That being said, we can absolutely agree that the dozens of packs and expansions are a huge turn-off, and why we've never gotten into the series past base versions. It's not financially a good value when you consider how much the entire collection would cost to purchase. LBY, and a few other games set to come out in the next year or two, are great contenders to hopefully topple the titan of the genre down, and offer a similar experience with other rewarding features that will provide some variation and a new world. We will say that it's extremely hard to bake the feeling of a Soul into these games, considering it's the players that give the game its soul to begin with. These titles are about giving players the freedom to create their own stories, so if The Sims (or LBY) forced us into the confines of what they consider to be the soul of the game, they'd fail to deliver that creative freedom we all love in the genre. We must consider that The Sims 5 is in development, so the true question is if these indie titles will be able to keep up with that on the horizon. Regardless, LBY is a FANTASTIC budget option that will absolutely scratch that Sims itch, without breaking your bank the way Sims does 😂
We should still see it this year (hopefully) but we did see the delay. Honestly, delays are a good thing as it means they're putting more time and resources into it
@@LisaTheTank Steam Deck is without a doubt a worthy investment if you're looking to get into cozy / casual games, or just PC games in general, since most Indie titles go through the trouble to get them on Steam Deck

That didn't seem harsh at all? They state it at the beginning of the video and were just stating it again in case you missed it, probably so you could go back to the beginning and get any other info you might have missed. 😊
@@Archer219 “we prefer to features *real* releases and prefer not to give false hope about games that will never release” sounded a bit harsh to me that’s all. LBY went down anyway so they did exactly what they didn’t want to. LBY has historically had way less to show for it than paralives, which has years of public patreon posts, dev chats and videos to show for their progress. i’m the one who liked their last reply anyway so i got what they meant by the end.

Yeah, Vivaland is our next best option but still no release date either. inZoi is made using a lot of AI for the character creation and decorative portions so not sure we're okay with that concept, but honestly? The Ranchers looks like it's going to take the world by storm and is managing to stay out of the 'Sims' community limelight somehow lol
Hello there. Have you played GROW: Song of the Evertree? Absolutely beautiful. I would also recommend The First Tree and especially Lost Ember, that game gets very emotional. One of my favs of all-time.
Sad but not unexpected that Life by You was cancelled. That's another Life-sim off the list. EA still has competition but it seems like the first hurdle for competitors is going to be whether they can survive to release or not. I like the look of Fields of Mistria, Sunnyside and Trash Goblin.
We're bringing content for all 3 (Fields of Mistrial, SunnySide and Trash Goblin) in the next 2-3 weeks haha! - Vivaland is also a more ambitious project that has more heart than Life by You so at least there's still an Indie competitor to The Sims, and The Ranchers looks like it'll demolish all of them - but of course we'll wait and see as we won't be convinced until they're in a fully released and functional state 😅

We've enjoyed our time with it as well! Just waiting for new content now 💕 thank goodness for early access 😁
I was excited too until seeing the gender issue. the relationship system also has few options and all female soooo... yeah I'm out
Tbf, the dating options aren't all female, there's multiple males on the list for dateable characters on Kickstarter ❤ but the character customization is locked behind 400k goal so 😅 not sure if it'll reach that@@staryuuuuuuu
@@liladventures_dnd yes, I just checked their kickstarter and they updated the goals!! also a female protag was included and they reached the goal already (no customization though but at least we get to play as a girl too). they didn't have the male love insterests before so its a huge plus
@@staryuuuuuuu didn't see the female goal, only the character customization, so this is indeed Fantastic 🥰
if you liked Koa and are excited for Mika and the Witch's Mountain, you should play their other game Summer in Mara if you haven't already!! I love Chibig and have all of their games!!
We haven't played that one yet, we'll definitely have to give it a look! 👀 They do make such wonderful games 🥰
love cozy games! I recently played another on mobile that might worth mentioning: Purr-fect Chef
We got asked to put together a list for mobile games, so maybe now we really need to 🤔
This was such a good list! And all real titles too, thanks!
Our pleasure! 🥰 We'll keep them coming 😁
Amazing video, thank you for putting all of these on my radar for the year!
I was wondering what the game at 0:15 was? I might've missed it in the video!
That's footage from SunnySide! Happy that we could help pad the Wishlist 🥰
Welp, looks like it's officially time to get a steamdeck. The lack of these on Switch makes me sad :(
Yeah, a lot of them are from smaller teams with lack of access to things like Switch ports, but! If the PC versions do well enough, they always have the chance to come out on it at a later date ❤️
The game we all need after playing shadow of erdtree
This is quite literally the entire reason we love to play casual and cozy games 😂 post league or long ESO nights haha
great list, would you consider putting what os is supported for PC? Windows/Mac
Will do it for every list going forward!! 🥰 We could add for this one in the description 🤔
I did not know fields of mistria was confirmed for 2024, now I’m crying
Should be! They've been rocking the 2024 date for a while and haven't stated otherwise, so while we don't have any exact dates, if we go based off of social media presence and what we've seen recently, it does seem that development is reaching it's end 👀👀❤️❤️
@@thepillowfortgaming I’m so beyond excited for that game 🥲 I cannot wait
It's definitely got a ton of promise to it! We'll do our best to cover it if we can ^.^@@HolicChan
Hi, you mentioned world renovation games, what others of this genre would you recommend? The idea sounds fun to me!
Sorry for the delayed response! Here's a few great titles that fall under the "Fix up the planet" vibe!
Lightyear Frontier (No Combat / Health Mechanics)
Distant Bloom (No Combat / Health Mechanics)
One Lonely Outpost (No Combat / Some Health Mechanics )
Wildmender (Fully adjustable playthrough experience ranging from impossibly hard to survive to cozy gardening simulator / fix up the world)
Terra Nil (More Simulation / Management style)
Let us know what your preferred genres are and we'll dig a bit deeper to find you a few more ^.^
Thank you so much for including Ova Magica❤!!!
It's our absolute pleasure! We're quite excited for it 🥰
Life By You is from Paradox so there will probably be a LOT of DLC's and long-term support.
That'll be cool too, especially if the base game is good ❤️
@thepillowfortgaming Agreed.
Great video!! what was the game called in the opening regards clip? it looks super fun :)
That would be Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator! As individuals who adored the Demo, it is quite fun, and that was with it lacking half the features lol!
Thanks for the list!
Happy to do it!
So many great looking games this year! What was the one being shown at 0:47?
That's from The Ranchers! It's probably right at the tip top of our personal list ngl.
15:49 I have a puppy named Mika and so me and mum are definitely going to have to play this game.
It's such a cute name! I'm sure your pup will be confused if there's any voice acting or calling of the name Mika 😂
@@thepillowfortgaming I doubt it. It would be funny if it did.
Considering Koa & the Five Pirates didn't, it's not likely this one will have much more then cute sounds and noises when people talk, but definitely some comedy value to be had if they do end up adding some @@invisiblechicken 😂
Are ya'll going to be playing these games in the future? I don't see any long let's plays just the reviews of demos.
We will, yes! In fact, we're already approved for a few of the full releases, however, most just haven't come out yet 🥰
@@thepillowfortgaming I'm waiting for a lot of these games too. I look forward to the let's plays

If they put aloft on switch omg that looks cool
It's a BLAST ngl! Beating up mushroom creatures, taming animals, flying your own little island base around... It was a good time ❤️
What are the two last games in the opening segment?
Critter Cove and The Ranchers! 🥰❤️ Critter Cove will be releasing this September, and the ranchers still has a possible Q4 release date but no news yet
omggg what song is used at 21:50? i need to hear it again!
We used a few songs from this mix for the video!
What is the game at 0:36 that says “Build and manage a growing town?”
Critter Cove 🥰❤️ it's a good one! We've been playing the beta and it's a lot of fun ngl
@@thepillowfortgaming Ah thank you! I want to give it a try, but I’m on PS5 and despite multiple sources saying it’s available on PlayStation I can’t find it! It’s not in the PS store and I don’t see it anywhere on disc either. :(
Ohhhh, excuse me Hayden?...I mean Fields of Mistiria lol!

Hi--Hate to bother you but may I have the title for the game in the beginning? The one where you build a house.
Hey! Never a bother ❤️ that's from the Upcoming Game 'The Ranchers' and one of our personal favorites among upcoming 🫶

What's the game shown at 00:25?
Critter Cove! 🥰
@@thepillowfortgaming Thank you for the quick answer! I watched the whole video but I didn't see that footage when you were talking about Critter Cove, so I was left wondering what it was 😅
For our newest list we added the titles of the games in a nice faded opacity in the corner so that no one has to wonder!! ❤️ We tried to use footage that wasn't from the talking parts so we could showcase as much gameplay as possible 🥰
@@thepillowfortgaming Yeah, I can understand that, and no worries, thanks for the change! ☺️
Life By You looks cozy to some people? Looks fairly cold and soulless to me. Oh~ maybe it's here cause casual. Got it.
Regardless, LBY is a FANTASTIC budget option that will absolutely scratch that Sims itch, without breaking your bank the way Sims does 😂
@@mayaha200 You won't hear me argue against Sims 4 being soulless. It *is* soulless. That's why I don't play it.
whats the game at the very last with the lion?
That's Fantastic Haven 🥰

Welcome!! Happy to have you as part of our cozy fort! ^.^
Fantastic haven is postponed to Q3 2024

Without a PC this video is almost useless unfortunality
Just the way it goes in the Indie Game world sadly. Most only come to PC and sometimes Switch. Console ports are exceptionally expensive
Steam deck
@@LisaTheTank Bought one 2 weeks ago 🫡
@@LisaTheTank Steam Deck is without a doubt a worthy investment if you're looking to get into cozy / casual games, or just PC games in general, since most Indie titles go through the trouble to get them on Steam Deck

No way you put life by you on here rather than Paralives, a much cosier game
Paralives isnt confirmed for 2024, it's coming 2025, and we prefer to feature real releases in our lists, rather than repeatedly give our community false hopes about games that won't be releasing. This is why we put the disclaimer at the beginning ❤️
This is also Cozy and *Casual* 👍
@@thepillowfortgaming oh mistake on my part but that’s harsh? paralives is hardly a game that won’t be coming out
@@cryingwatercolours apologize for any feelings of harshness, they weren't intended, just clarifying.
We've already featured Paralives on previous lists, so it's gotten plenty of love from our channel already ❤️ and once its release date has been announced, it'll be featured again 🥰

Why r all simulation games FPP? Damn i really hate it! Giving me a headache
We can 100% understand the frustration. We love em, but any FP games we have a 2 hour limit before we get a headache too 😅 we'll keep our eyes out for any TPP simulation titles for you! When we do get em we obsess over em.
There is always Palia, but that's an MMO obviously 😅 albeit F2P

Life by You is cancelled. Shooocker.
@@thepillowfortgaming Vivaland and Paralives.. so long they don't cancel too 😭😭
Hello there. Have you played GROW: Song of the Evertree? Absolutely beautiful. I would also recommend The First Tree and especially Lost Ember, that game gets very emotional. One of my favs of all-time.
We've had that one on our wishlist for so long, perhaps it's time to check it out for real!
- Vivaland is also a more ambitious project that has more heart than Life by You so at least there's still an Indie competitor to The Sims, and The Ranchers looks like it'll demolish all of them - but of course we'll wait and see as we won't be convinced until they're in a fully released and functional state 😅
Thank you for list!
Tiny Glade! Amazing cozy game coming soon. @PounceLight.
We're covering the Demo currently 🥰❤️
